A quick update about what is happening in development of The Project Knight.

Here's a quick preview of the development status of The Project Knight, which will be showcased in the upcoming devlog video!

The UI has finally taken shape! Inspired by the medieval art of marginalia, I've designed the UI to evoke the feeling of reading a medieval book.

Here is a preview of the inventory screen:Inventory

And here is a preview of the horse inventory screen
(what kind of knight would our main character be if he didn't have a trustworthy steed of his own?):

I have also worked on and finished a dialog system along with a questing system. While the dialog system is completely finished (featuring many types of topics and dialog options bundled with audio clips and some sort of lip-sync), the questing system still has a few tasks to complete before it will be ready for an alpha version.

Here is a display of the dialog system. On the right, where the dialog topics are,
you'll see that the first topic has an icon next to it. This indicates that it's a quest topic.
(When activated, it will still give the player the choice to accept or decline the quest.)

Last but not least - a trusty steed! Players can own a horse, who will be their companion and means of transportation. The world of The Project Knight is set in a fictional medieval state - the Kingdom of Sjenovik - featuring vast and open lands. It would be quite a task to traverse it all on foot. Therefore, players need something to get them from point A to point B. You will need to take care of your horse, equip him, and feed him if you want him to stay loyal to you and to answer your whistle when you need him. Players will also be able to fight from horseback.

Here is a simple screenshot of the player atop his trusty steed and companion.
