I've started stepping up my YouTube game. Looking forward to seeing you there! Assembly RTS is a unique physics-based online strategy game with unit customization in the works.

Hey everyone!

I'm on a quest to make the visuals of Assembly RTS really stand out for the upcoming Steam page.
But I'm also aware that these advanced visuals can come at a the cost of performance.

This lead me to using URP instead of the HDRP for two days, to see if I could get the graphics up to the same standards while attaining much better performance by default.

In the end I came to the conclusion that it's much more difficult to make URP look good.
I'll stick with HDRP for the rest of the duration of this project to make quick development progress.

I'm working on a YouTube devlog about this topic and you can watch the preview-version of it here:

Please let me know what you think of this video devlog, I'm trying my best to improve the quality of my devlogs as much as possible and I can't do that without your feedback. Thanks!

Speaking of video editing, I've only started using Adobe products a few days ago and Premiere Pro hasn't crashed once! Coming from Vegas Pro, which crashed dozens of times a day this is a great relief.

I'm even quite hyped about learning Photoshop, although I don't have much time for that sort of thing.
Not a fan of the company as a whole, but I'm impressed with the quality of Adobe's software.

I also made my first YouTube short. It's a very different style of video editing than I'm used to and I probably won't make another video like this. It was an interesting creation process nonetheless.

I've started writing / video editing every day now, because it makes it easier for me to capture the interesting parts about the making of Assembly RTS on a shorter time scale.

I find long-term devlogs are more difficult to create and I hope that this new approach will get my channel going again but with much improved content quality. I'm looking forward to seeing you all in the YouTube comments section of my channel.
