We are back yet another sunday!
So this week we have mostly done backend stuff. But we did get some visual things done also.
Some of the stuff we fixed are.
- Random spawnpoints
- Added collectable sticks & stones
- Poi system
- Visual updates
- User interface updated and added
- Combat system improved
Random Spawnpoints
When the game starts all 12 players will be spawned in different areas around the map. The locations are randomly generated everytime but will follow some rules we setup.
Only one player can spawn at one location so theres no risk of 2 players popping up at the same place and killing each other withing the first seconds of the game.
Collectables
As mentioned in previous posts there is a bit of survival elements in the game. Not as evolved or advanced as most survival games but in Obitus thats not needed.
Players will be able to find resources around the map that can be used to survive. Resources such foods, sticks and stones etc.
These resources can be used to craft low durability items such as weapons, medical supplys and so on.
More on items will come later.
Poi system (Point of interest)
Due to Obitus being a fast paste game theres important that players can collect resources and move on as quickly as possible.
Thats why we added a poi system wich will add a marker on resources when players are nearby. This is cause some items such as stones and sticks etc can be hard to see when running around.
This now makes items easier to spot when your on the move. Marker shows up and players can run to them and pick up.

Visual updates
We have done some smaller visual updates to the map and to the sky and lighting. These are just minor improvements but that makes alot of difference.
Some of the visual changes was also necesserary to fix some glitches and performance improvements.
User interface added
We now have added some more of the ui to the game. We added a compass, vitals and the drop shop points. also started working on the crafting ui wich will porbably showed in next weeks post depending on how far we gotten.
We want a clean and simple interface that just shows the absolute necessary information.

Combat improved
Last week we posted the roadmap for Obitus and we had combat work in Q2. This is still the case but we still want to improve it and work on it when we get a chance to make it as easy as possible for us in Q2.
We have made more progress and we now added body part damage. Each body part has a multiplier that will be used to calculate the damage. Currently you will be able to hit multiple parts in the same attack making you do a lot more damage. We havent decided if we gonna keep this cause we have seen scenarios where this might be an issue later down the road. So that MIGHT change for release.
Also got death animations in. It now randomizes between 3 different animations giving it some more variation and depending on attack some really cool visual flare!
