Ganbare! Super Strikers is a Turn Based Tactical RPG Soccer Game based on games like Captain Tsubasa, Inazuma Eleven and the blitzball minigame from Final Fantasy X

GAME MODES

There are two main game modes in Ganbare! Super Strikers, featuring both 5-a-side and 11-a-side matches:

Story Mode: Start playing with a high school team and end up competing for the World Cup creating a team with the best players in the country. Your team and players will level up as you beat stronger opponents.

Multiplayer Mode: Compete against your friends with the team you have been building through the Story Mode in Single Matches, Tournaments or Leagues.

GAME DESCRIPTION

Each team can take turns to move players around and use different skills to try to score as many goals as possible before the time runs out. Depending on the type of match, each team will have five or eleven players, and the size of the field will be different.

The players can level up as they win matches, which allows them to improve their parameters: Stamina Points (SP), Ability Points (AP), Move, Pass, Shoot, Tackle, Dribble, Catch. Each action consumes SP, while AP are consumed by special Skills and Abilities. Everytime a player's parameter is used against the opponent's (like Tackle vs Dribble in Tackle Battles), a random value between 50% and 150% of the original value is calculated. The actions that the players can perform are:

Move: A player can move as many squares as his Move Parameter allows him to.

Passes: The Pass Parameter determines the power of the pass. The ball loses power for each square it moves through, and if by the time a player receives that pass the power is zero, it will fail. Opponents close enough to the trayectory will try to block the pass by subtracting a value based on their Block Parameter. Some abilities can add altered statuses to the pass.

Shots: A player can shoot when he is close enough to the goal. The Shoot Parameter determines the power of the shot. The ball loses power for each square it moves through, and opponents close enough to the trayectory will try to block the shot by subtracting a value based on their Block Parameter. If the ball gets to the GK, he can use any of his Catch Skills to try to stop the ball. Some abilities can modify the ball trayectory.

Tackle Battles: When a player with the ball moves next to a rival or a player perfomes a tackle, a Tackle Battle starts. In the battle, the Tackle and Dribble parameters of each player are compared and the winner keeps the ball, while the loser gets inactive for a turn. Some abilities can add altered statuses to the tackle.

Abilities: The abilities have a more general purpose and can be used for different situations. For example, Brick Wall will create a barrier that can block a shot, while Restore can recover some AP.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The players in Ganbare! can learn new skills as they level up. The players can use these skills to improve their parameters or add altered statuses. There are five different types of skills: Passes, Shots, Tackles, Dribbles and Abilities.

By using some skills, the players can inflict an altered status to a rival or ally. For example, Toxic Tackle can inflict Poison Status, which reduces the player's SP every turn; Ice Pass can inflict Frozen Status, which freezes a player and prevents him from moving for a few turns.
