DotDot is a single-player puzzle game that combines a top-down perspective with a third-person view, based on Hamiltonian path. Players should observe the points (white and green octagonal prism) and the lines connecting them, to grasp the concepts and patterns about them, in order to help "AISister" proceed to the next test chamber.

Experiment 88

"AISister" is co-invented by three companies. In simple terms, the companies are responsible for manufacturing her virtual brain, physical body, and real-world simulation system respectively. Experiment 88 is the 88th experiment designed to test her cognition, reasoning, and behavioral responses in the real world. You may notice that "AISister" exhibits peculiar behavior at the beginning of the game. Give her some time, and she will adapt to the environment and naturally gain control over her body.

Unique Levels

Traditional puzzle-solving can be cliché. Therefore, each level has a distinct style and setting. Scenes can vary from rainy to scorching hot or freezing cold. Sometimes, completing a level will reward you with items that, when picked up and used, may lead to unexpected outcomes. The game features a top-down perspective when puzzle-solving, a third-person perspective for exploring levels and advancing the storyline.

Tips:

  • You can complete the game by simply using an ordinary mouse.
  • If you have no clue how to solve a puzzle, try replaying the tutorial level.
  • Settings Menu allow you to adjust the zoom level in the third-person view.

The game plans to include at least double the number of levels in the future official release, guaranteeing it will be richer and more engaging storyline.

Dev's Whisper

I fxxked up.

It is not easy to become an indie game dev. I was thinking oppositely until a day before DotDot release.

It take times to make a game, when only 2 men are working on it. My partner is learning C# while writing scripts for the games, because he never learn how to program. We blame Unity everyday, most of the time we fight with it, up to 31 days with 0 progress may happened. Back and forward, reverse and forward. This is like working, the process is as painful as your jobs, the main difference is no one pay us any salary in the process, and we have to tell everyone we are umemployee. This is fine, I am not fxxked up yet.

Then we put our first project(2D pixel art TD game) on hold. Reason? It just pure pain. After we working a year on it, everything mess up. This is a prectidable result, we are rookie, but we expect too much of ourselves. Fine. We decided to make a simpler game - DotDot.

Steam tell us to promote the game before it released. I did. I lied. Actually I did not. Every video game journalism or media platform I contacted, either they are big or small, ignore or gave a perfunctory answer to my request to review DotDot. I don't know the reason, maybe I am simply just unlucky, or they read their email annually. One of the platform did answer me, he asked for (CNY)26k to promote anything, I thought he was joking so I escaped. Until now, I registered my game on IndieDB, thanks a lot.
