7th article about MorphoPlay: Costa Nova, currently being developed.

Greetings, people!

For today, let's have a look at the mechanics and interactions of the game.

The mechanics of MorphoPlay: Costa Nova will be based on point and click and drag and drop, keeping the game easy to understand and accessible for the players.

The following GIFs will show you the prototype of our game, and it is not the final result.


The Movement and the Characters' Interaction

The character's movement is the standard movement, with the particularity that there are two types of camera. While the camera inside the buildings will have a fixed isometric perspective, the exterior camera will follow the player.
In the speech system, while the characters' speech appears, their images also appear next to the text, so that we always have an idea of who is saying what.

The Menu

Here the player will have access to the tasks he has already completed and those still to be completed, as well as checking the inventory for items he receives for successfully completing a task, or even what he finds on the Costa Nova. You can also change general options, such as the volume of music and sounds.

The Minigame

When the player decides to help the NPC (do the task) there is a small camera animation that leads the player to the exercise, so that the exercise can be performed. At the beginning of each exercise, there will be an explanation of what needs to be done for the task to be accomplished. After the end of the exercise, the camera returns to its previous static format for the continuation of the game, and there is again interaction between the characters before the player continues his journey.
