It's an MMO(A)RPG project, meaning that it is not complete, meaning that it does not have to host 1000s of players right now.
Our servers are getting some down time today due to a domain name transfer. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We have made a classic katana as well, along with other regular shinobi weapons but for those we didn't need concept art. These weapons here are some of our original designs.
Thanks :) And yes we plan on updating the deathmatch version with stuff like new jutsus as much as we can once it's out.
There is an in-depth explanation of how the donation system works on the website, I'd say check it out when the site is back up.
Also, a newer version just replaces an older version, which kinda makes sense, so there's only one version available at a particular time.
Welcome to Narusimu :) Hold those questions for when the website and forum are back alive. You can ask them in the Questions Board on our forum (after you've read the FAQ of course to see if your questions have already been answered there). We get a lot of the same questions :)
Anyway, a Kage of a village will be a player that got his position as a result of monthly elections held by members of that village. Since we're having multiple villages, you can expect multiple (player-elected) Kages.
That version is going to get released to donators in a couple of days.
The entire game will be updated for everyone once the deathmatch version of the game (aka version 1.2) is finished.
Donators get access to early builds of the progress we make along the way as a way of our appreciation of their financial support.
You'd find an answer to those questions on our forum but as it is down at the moment, I'll answer them personally.
Narusimu is going for the MMOARPG approach, meaning that it's an MMORPG like another, only highly action-based.
Jutsus will be just about as manual-controlled as is possible in a game, meaning that you will have to know and be able to perform hand seals, and you will be expected to aim at your target.
Jutsus will not be exactly like in the show, but rather created by us inspired by the show like anything else in Narusimu will be. The Chidori that you've seen so far will get a complete rework and will even get renamed. Certain jutsus like transformation jutsu will not be present in the Narusimu Universe because it is not realistic. We are of course a fictional universe, but it is definitely science-fiction and therefore can't feature completely irrational and impossible things.
Making chakra copies of yourself (i.e. shadow clones) does fall within the possible so I'd say we would get a jutsu for that in the future.
There, I hope that answered your questions :) Thanks for your support.
For those wondering what's going on with the website, our web host is migrating their servers. It won't take much longer (I think) before the website is up again.
Yeah seems that way, the web host is having some problems, it'll be fixed in a couple of hours.
Yes we have indeed and hot water springs will be there for sure!
The webhost is having some issues, it'll be up soon.
It seems our web host's servers crashed today, but all is fine now.
Fair enough.
Both scenic and other types of models (e.g. character models) are being created, there is no rush towards a specific type.
Narusimu is indeed being developed as an MMO, but this year's planned release of 1.2.0 will be a deathmatch version of the game to keep our community busy while we work on the MMOARPG elements of Narusimu. This early deathmatch version will also allow us to collect valuable data and perfect our combat system. This will require hosting of small servers by players in a lobby type of environment.
My modelers are both in their 3rd year of modeling education. One is specialized in level design, the other in character modeling. This works out great for us. And the team is growing rapidly, we get many applications of which only the best and most capable are being let through.
I'm using Unity and I've had great experience with 3ds Max's exported bipeds and their animations in the FBX container.
The way MMOs are hosted, on a dedicated server. What developers are you talking about?
You really do need to step it up a notch, you're clearly not getting my point. I'm saying I'm ALLOWED to post anything I want here as long as it is not against IndieDB's rules. Posting other projects here is actually allowed. As much as you think this page is yours, it's not, it's owned by IndieDB, so you cannot force your own policies here. As for the dreaming part, you're right, keep on dreaming.
I see you're new to Narusimu :) One of the most essential things in Narusimu is that ninjutsu requires you to input real hand seals.
You can put that kind of rules on the website you don't have, but you can't on here ;)
You KIDS are NOT going to develop a Nerve Gear. If anyone is looking for a serious SAO project, then check this out https://www.indiedb.com/games/age-of-aincrad and let these kids dream.
No, this is just a shinobi in his fighting gear. We will work on the design of an ANBU-like organisation at a later point.
Yes. Those are also not all hairstyles we will have.
Yeah it's pretty good although I say this myself.
Good, it'll be finished in a week or three. Then the texturing can start.
You'll be able make use of it in the finished game when you're travelling in trees to maintain cover, when you're escaping from rogue shinobi, when you want to get somewhere really quick in a village, etc.
