Added in the first opponent. He's a sketchy nervous fella. Also have the beginnings of the background. How it will look is his legs will fade to black into the bg which will also fade to black.

My new indie mobile fighting game devepment continues to go well!
Now the player hands and the HUD is drawn in integrated!! More soon!
So far I really like the sort of steampunk ivory theme we got going on. Just a lovely style! It's sort of an underground universe, battling your way up from alleyways to big arenas and such.

Stalled fighting game dev is underway again!

Underway once more for the fighting game. We are working out the artistic side of the game as I program the gameplay. It's simple gameplay so there will be alot of flashy things going on to satisfy the user.

Here's the latest screenshot with the 'Ready Fight' and the countdown clock.

In a bout of nostalgia I started playing an old game I made a few years ago. With all the changes to the iOS, it had some problems. I decided to update it, give it some better graphics, and re-release it with no ads and no IAPS.

Here's the final product! (for the second time...)

Fighting game development continued

Getting some progress here. Working on the main fighting scene. I'm programming it with Cocos2dx in Eclipse, then once I get the main game written I'll port it to x-code. I've found the eclipse is alot more specific with what Cocos functions to use, and x-code is fine either way.

The game is scheduled to be completed in mid-March, probably March 10-15 or something. Depends on the last minute adjustments I do to balance and make the game as good as I can. So this game is going to morph pretty quickly!

Here are the slides for the bad guy! Looks like it's gonna be interesting!!
This guy is the wuss. He does obvious moves, and should be relatively easy to defeat.

Next game HERE WE GO!!

Next game is going to be an iOS/Android fighting game, alot like Mike Tyson's punch out!

Here's the first draft in game screen shot!
It'll be a tournament style play, sort of like one must fall. The initial release will only have one tournament, you'll play through and become the champion!!

Now I blog

I've been creating games for just the IOS for about 5 years. So far I've really been learning, learning a lot, and failing big time. My games have had very little success, very few downloads, and the everything feels, well, bleak.

About 6 months ago I really messed up my back (major sciatic nerve pinch), and was forced to go on disability. I can't really stand or sit for too long, so I'm restricted to a yoga position called 'childs pose' why vigorously typing. At that time I was miserable. So if I'm going to be in massive amounts of nerve pain, I might as well program more right?

So, I started to really look at what was wrong with my company, my brand, and my games.

I'm still disabled, still can't sit down at all or stand for more than a few minutes, but I'm not in constant pain so that's good (things are improving). But all that is the build up to the good stuff. I have since brought someone into my company to help with branding and marketing, it's a whole new world for me, that which I am woefully underprepared for.

So now I am blogging about it, on indiedb, for the one or two people that stumble apon this random thread.

Where I am at? Well we just released the first game since the major retrofit. Since getting messed up I've written 2 games that are unreleased, finished a todo list for my wife, and made a Kindness Acts app for my mother in-law.
The new game is called Kickoff Rush.

So far, marketing wise, we are appealing to my inner circle on facebook and such. Just a couple hundred downloads. Feels like getting from here (a world of no recognition and few downloads), to competing with the big boys is impossible. But luckily, I don't need to worry about that, all I need to do is make good games.

At least that's what I'm trying to tell myself.
Wish me luck!
