Prehysteria is an open-world, survival horror game set on an island somewhere in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. Players awaken on the beach after surviving the sinking of the cruise ship they
were on, and they're the only survivor (three more survivors if playing co-op). The survivor(s) soon find out they're not alone on the island as it is populated by animals thought to have long been extinct...
So, the game is a survival-horror game set on a tropical island full of dinosaurs. There is no means of weaponry and no way to kill the prehistoric giants. You'll be armed with a flashlight that survives the wreckage, and numerous rocks you can pick up on the island to distract the larger carnivores for a short amount of time, or scare
the smaller ones away.

We'd like to eventually incorporate a co-op element later on during development with a drop-in/drop-out style of play.

The game is being developed by a small handful of experienced developers in the industry. Together we've worked on titles such as Paranormal/Paranormal: The Town, League Of Legends, Need For Speed and various films such as Les Miserables, Kick Ass, and more.
Just a short little update regarding the development of Prehysteria. I've had to halt all progress on the game as the GPU in my computer died a few days ago, and I have no way to work on the game. So, there's going to be some delay in terms of development until I can get a new graphics card for my PC.
That being said, the game is still being developed and since all of the programming, and level design is being done by me it's going to be a lengthy process, but I can assure you all that the end product will be worth it.
Thanks for following, and tracking the game. Down below are some conceptual art stuff regarding the player characters. We have a nerdy character of Stan Crichton, and the cruise-ship's captain, Michael Winston. Both of their names are plays on two very prominent people who were responsible for the amazing work in the Jurassic Park films. Michael Crichton being the writer of Jurassic Park, and Stan Winston being responsible for the amazing animatatronic work in the films. This is us honoring these two men who sadly passed away a few years ago.

Some details on one of the human buildings as well as answering some more of the popular questions amongst the community.
I talk about some minor features that will be in Prehysteria, as well as explain the core concept behind the game some more. Oh, and dinosaurs like always...
Just mostly early environment showcases, as well as what you can expect in terms of island size, atmosphere, etc.
Welcome to Prehysteria: The open-world, survival horror game set on a jungle infested with dinosaurs.
I do ask, Justin 'Manio' Ross, how are people to trust you if you blatantly stole money from the game "Faceless" you were once part of and spent it on yourself? That was 2,000 dollars raised by Faceless for future development that you just swept away, instead spending it on things like Doctor Who Merchandise, Apparel, Bills, DVDs, Games, clothes, people to hire for Prehysteria, etc. Hell, you even announced on Facebook you're saving up for a new Graphics Card rather than paying Sklarlight the money that is rightfully property of the Faceless Development Team.
After this, why do you expect people to donate their hard earned money to you? I am sorry, but no. This seems too much like a scam. If it's not, I apologize, but your background is shrouded in lies and theft. Shame on you if this is a scam.
THIS! IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! Finally, i've been waiting for a game like this since i was about 5 years old!
Well...
I have a lot to say...
I'm working on a Dinosaur Survival Horror Game too, well, I'm just a mere sound designer.
From what I can see this looks awesome for a start, all of the dinosaurs look pretty sinister, my only concern is that you're not going to be able to kill the small dinosaurs, maybe let players able to kill small dinosaurs but not medium or large sized?
I like the tall grass concept, it will make a lot of suspense before the scare.
The sounds are pretty good, fits the T. rex.
This is a very ambitious project, good luck!
No killable dinosaurs. We feel like there isn't much of a risk if you can kill them to get out of situations. No weapons. Just rocks to distract them.
Besides, there won't be many tiny dinosaurs.
KEEP US UPDATED!!! SOUNDS AWESOME!!! AND I LOVE HOW YOU ACTUALLY REPLY TO PEOPLES COMMENTS!!!
Woo!
Tracking sounds good....only thought is adding crafting to make your own weapons (i.e. spears, bow, etc.). If you were stuck on a tropical island with dinosaurs with plenty of resources wouldn't you make a bow or two? Cheers and best of luck!
But it wouldn't be as scary ;)
It's a horror game.
Being armed doesn't make a game less scary. In fact, I think being armed with some primitive bow or spear, finding an old knife, or flares, would allow for some more options and make the gameplay more tense.
It's one thing to always be running and hiding. It's another to feel like you have a semblance of protection with your wooden spear as you hide in the tall grass at night as you hear raptors hoot nearby, knowing that you maybe only have one chance to hold the predators at bay before you're weaponless and need to flee
Having a weapon enhances that feeling of desperation when you don't have a weapon, adding tension beyond just hiding.
There will be flares, and they are ways to defend yourself. You just won't be able to kill anything.
That sounds good enough for me :D
