Unity Asset Editor is a plug-in based asset editor, exporter, and importer for modding games created with the Unity Game Engine. It can import and export any asset in raw data format. It can also be extended to support any kind of asset type through the use of plug-ins. Lot's of fixes an new stuff in v0.2. This is an early version of UAE, so expect some bugs. I also can't guarantee it will work with every game or every file. If you find a file or game it doesn't work with let me know so I can figure out what's wrong. Also any suggestions will be listened too, and if I can do it I will.

Sorry guys and gals. I copied the wrong file to the zip, and gave you the DEBUG version. This has probably caused some of you to have problems running it. I have updated the files to the correct Release version now.

Hi. First thanks for the editor it's very cool. Secondly, I could modify the audio files but it didn't works on the textures, just only those what haven't contain transparency. If I would like to modify them the game crashes immediately. I used paint.net and saved the files as dds. Any idea? May I did something wrong or just the editor fahks with me?
If it's a DDS file, you need to make sure it's in the exact same format. Same bpp, same alpha, same order, as the original. That's the issue I had modding 7d2d, which uses a variety of formats for their textures. Once I got that straight, it all worked.
leadingzero may already have you covered there.
Make sure you're using the new v0.2 version, and the new plugins that come with it. The old version incorrectly listed some of the texture types.
Otherwise I need more information. What game are you using this on? Can you export, but not import? Are you using the exact same file type/compression/mipmaps/alpha?

Minor update. A user pointed out the lack of some Audio File types in the Audio Export/Import plugin. I've added all the file types I can find for the Unity Engine. It should now deal with these files correctly.
This addition showed me a couple of places where my plugin system is lacking, so expect some plugin changes with v0.3

Been a long time out since I posted here first. I'm due soon to release a Unity 5 ready version of this tool. Not to mention you'll all get the v0.3 version we've been using for awhile now at 7 Days to Die. Next weekend is the plan.
Hey, sorry for the dumb question, but is it at all possible to get into and edit/repack the .RESS files? There are certain music files of a Unity-based game I would like to edit, however they are stored in the relevant .RESS file, and the .ASSETS file only contains (I think) a pointer to the location in the .RESS file. Your UAE can partially open the .RESS file before crashing.
