5/5/13- Update: Version 1.8 has just been released. This fixes some bugs and allows for symmetry in parts placement. You can get it for your OS here.
Last week we took the wraps off of our music collection, promising more goodies would come. Now it's time to deliver.
The latest in a line of prototypes for dealing with the aesthetics and workflow of the microbe editor is now officially yours to explore. Although rudimentary, this prototype will give you a feel for how complex you can make the shape of a cell, and how much more space for structural adaptation there will be in Thrive's microbe stage versus what you may remember from Spore. Microbial gameplay is going to be a full experience, visually, interactively, and technically, and not just a brief introductory stage.
Without further Adieu, here's FunnyGames's cell editor prototype, along with a brief demonstration video from Doggit.
Download the prototype for the OS of your choice.

I just saw 0.17 on they're forum :D
Here i was, 3 am, way too much soda, and i found this...beautiful... the game-play, even in the prototype is compelling, and as soon as i figured out that green=me (XD), the goal was clear: Grab the pink things and the squiggles, don't let that number on ya hit zero, and that squiggles gave you more control. surprisingly playable for such an early prototype.
keep up the great work! i will be following this project with extreme interest.
This is truly amazing, i remember the day, that i thought spore was amazing because of how they did it, and for its time it was indeed great, but this topped the bar even as a prototype, keep up the great work.
I can't start the game, because it says he can't find javaw.exe
