Hello everyone we are BitterBeetleStudios and today we are going to present our game mechanics and prototype we are currently working on.

Cod Works is a shooter game based on the Portuguese cod fishing in the 20 centuries mixing it with science fiction Victorian era machinery steampunk, we have been developing it for some weeks now and we plan for much more to come.

This week we can finally share with everyone some of the mechanics and prototypes we are currently working on.
Starting with the Boat movement we pretend to make it as realistic as it can be with the ocean having an effect on the boat itself and the boat movement seem natural.

As of right now we have manage to make the boat movement without this wave effects, being able to control the boat and navigate along the map.

Moving on to the next topic about the camera transition from the boat view to the harpoon view we have manage to make the transition seem smooth and functional, it is still a work in progress but this is what we have now.

Now for our final progress we want to talk about the codfish and the fishing areas, as well as the harpoon.
As of right now the fishes spawn inside the fishing areas like intended, when in harpoon mode we can shoot the codfish deleting them from the game. We intend to make a fishing mini-game when the fish is shoot, however as of right now that's not our priority.
