None of the above :-)
The land is modeled flat(in 2D)
The engine only model changes in density of the the air which results in updraft and wind.
Temperature drops with altitude.
Albedo is also modeled in the engine. It really comes into effect with snow. Although the Lightning Weather Engine can model snow, there won't be any snow in Prague because the complication it would cause with the story line.
For Windows XP and up:
As low as a Pentium 4 1.90Ghz with 512MB Ram 64MB graphics
Not sure for the Mac but should be pretty low as long as it's an Intel based Mac.
Since this game is meant to be played in the background it's not resource intensive.
The temperature is the only variable that controls evolution, so a tutorial should not be needed. However I'm working on a "cheat sheet" that will list all the key species along with their requirements and traits.
@masternerdguy
There are 7 key species and varoius "transitional" species are generated from them.
Not really. In Chrysalis-D, you only have control of the environment. Not the species themselves. Also there is no real goal in the game. It just plays out based on the environment conditions. The main idea is to ontrol the population of one species over the the other.
Cool. Nice to hear that. I might have to pick your brains for ideas and concepts for Chrysalis-E.
As an aside you might want to check out a "game" called Foldit made by researches at the University of Washington. The challenge there the Protein Folding. A blog about it is here.

I understand :-)
When Prague becomes available, it will be for under $20.
I'm not sure if and when betas will be available.
Will keep you posted.
Thanks. Will keep the updates coming.
Prague will cost somewhere between $19.95 and $14.95.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I made the mistake in the beginning to make the tiles run up/down instead of diagonal. So the ground doesn't seem to have much perspective. This is made worse when the buildings run up/down like the Raincatcher instead of diagonal.
Interesting point. I kinda screwed up in the beginning by combining non-essential UI elements with essential ones like the minimap. So I need to untangle that an just leave the essential ones on the screen. Thanks for the input.
Thanks,
Prague is finally coming together. I hope to have more frequent updates.

I'm a game developer and owner of Reflective Layer, an independent game studio in Philadelphia. We started out as indie film maker but then in 2007 switched to indie games. Our current project is Prague. It's a RTS/ village building game featuring a computer simulated weather system which generates wind, rain, snow and other metrological conditions. These conditions impact gameplay in every aspect.
