Sorry for the late response. I have not been too active here. Been doing a lot of grinding but still working and this is on my to-do list of something to revamp when I get the opportunity.

Let's see Tacheon Reef win game of the year for 2015 ~_^
I may be a little late to check this out (even though I heard a good bit about it while you were working on it) and it looks like a glorious and fun effect. Also, that is an interesting weapon and I love that added binary touch I see on the ground.
Crowdsourcing really is a tricky beast because of the ballooning it has undergone. It grew too much and there are enough flops that you really gotta be at such a higher level that you already have most of it done (which to me really defeats the purpose of crowdsourcing since it ends up funding the tail end when a majority of the work is done and not the original intention of funding from proof of concept to the end).
An alternative you may be interested in that Ed Fries mentioned to me is Angel.co . This is focused around angel investors and may work to help fund you over the next few months. I'm not quite ready for that step YET (still some major experimenting left and core details intentionally being held off ATM) but your artwork always amazes me on SSS and the great feedback on your demo is a great sign that you could get some success here. If you do give it a shot, let me know about your experience so I can get a better understanding to prepare myself for that process ~_^
Someone think of the crops! Oh why won't someone think of the crops' safety!
Congratulations on all the progress. It is certainly coming together and really starting to show a visioned shape that you are going for. Bugs always creep up and that is why they always advise "you better plan for 3x the time your estimate is" to cover those bugs that will crop up. Now that you have these bugs fixed, you can march on forward!
The S.H.A.R.K. can now work for us? Now that's an update I'm eager to play with!
Looks like you've been a busy beaver with all that you have gotten accomplished. Looks like a long list of great updates.
Jay did an awesome job with the new graphics! Kudos to him on the great job! I can see why you were so excited about the results. I still support the idea brought up of letting us add spritesheets to further add to it, but Jay's definitely should be the default because I don't think we're going to beat that.
Very nice. Sounds like such a simple feature but really comes a good ways in the immersion factor.
Yeah, alls you can do is give it your best. You knew up front it would be a brutal, difficult competition and you learned a lot from it and progressed a lot to get it to where it is now. Hopefully I can get things back in order myself so I can give you some strong competition for the next one ;)
Yeah, it certainly does. I just wish I had more time to dig into it with all that is going on for me. I'm certainly curious to see the results of some of that experimentation.
That is certainly an idea of a starter's and a more in-depth one. I might have to remember that idea as well.
Great to hear things are progressing very nicely and always good to hear that it is so good your testers are having trouble putting it down. Closest I have had to that is one of my mini-games (not sure if it is a good thing or not when they can't stop playing the mini-game and main game is not as addictive).
Sounds like there is so much great depth that a strategy guide might be important for this game. Might be a good way to make some additional income for it and further guide the players towards getting the most out of it (especially for those who love to 100% a game)
Congratulations again on getting 2nd! Definitely an award to brag about when you start talking to the press ~_^
It is really coming together and looking very solid. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to join in on a session.
I did see notes for the modder community and was wondering if you are also writing a modding guide as well or if you are leaving it for them to figure out? Either way, it will add longevity and exposure in a great way.
Looking really nice. Seeing lots of greenlights on there. BTW, what program did you use to make this?
Very impressive and really loving the atmosphere the lighting is providing in that video. It's also really cool to see that beast in (slow) motion.
Sounds like it is really coming together and getting some nice polish in as you progress towards that finish line. Let's hope all goes well with the IGF judging.
Nice, solid article. Hopefully it stirs up a bit of interest for the game. I definitely want to give Dead Icarus a try.
I'm certainly enjoying it and played quite a few more times than I intended to. Such a tease when you're seeing a great stash and can't go near it because you lack what you need but that is part of the strategy and part of the fun.
Sounds like some great progress and if you remember the grand rule of development estimates, "take your expected development time and triple it", so don't feel too bad about the 5 week mark. Once you pass the 6 week mark is when to really start wrapping it up. Plus, you're learning much more about quicker development cycles (which is an invaluable asset) and getting cores down you will probably want to invest in future engines you develop. So no reason to think it is all a massive loss by this time frame (especially for each detail that stretches into other engines). Also, empire building takes time, right? ;D
I'm loving those screenshots. I want to embrace the madness (sadly can't play until I upgrade up to a new iPhone to be able to play it....but when I do, I will let you know).
Achievements? Now I have to be afraid to play because I'm going to want to get them all ;)
I'm surprised you still haven't locked me down and told me to play yet but then again, we know the repercussion is that I won't stop playing either =P
Here is to hoping this wins a finalist slot for IGF!
Congratulations! I hope you keep up the momentum and finish this beauty in no time!
Looks fun and fast moving pace for the map view. I am going to be thinking a lot on how I will play it. I am usually one who likes to explore every nook and cranny but returning and they are changed will leave me debating on that. I think when I am playing it, I will know what I will want to do as I play it.
Sounds like you have gotten a lot done and have conquered a beast I would keep trying to plan out but would keep running into snags. Looks like you found ways through it and I can't wait to experience it in my own hands.
Nice to see that grass come to life every time I watch it!
