I like this engine, I like prey and Doom 3. Sadly not many devs chooses the id tech somehow, I don't know why. The games are good, therefore I assume the engine is.
The first Cryengine brought a lot of happy faces with Far-Cry, that game still looks amazing. A good engine, though one would prefer Cryengine 2 or even 3.
Stunning graphical engine. Crysis is still super good looking after 3 years. First I thought Far-Cry 2 uses this engine, but apparently it doesn't, since it's not Crytek. It's only Crysis and Crysis Warhead that uses this engine, that I know of.
A bit weird engine, the Penumbra series is using it as well as Amnesia. They are all awesome first-person horror/puzzle games that I love, I guess the engine is good, not perfect. But it's Indie so... Oh and it's apparently open-source, cool!
9/10 because both Morrowind and Oblivion uses it. I don't know much about this engine except that Zoo Tycoon apparently also uses it which makes things really confusing. It seems like a decent engine by looking at Morrowind and Oblivion.
I can't see anything special about this engine except the fact that a lot of games uses it, so I suppose it's a good engine, "easy" to handle and mod friendly.
The forerunner of Source and a modded id tech. This engine is old and only cover a few valve titles, but it's still an awesome engine because so far I haven't encountered any issues with it. Only good games uses it, and it's mod friendly.
