You're welcome, hopefully you have a smooth play through. Just a reminder there are some other tips/workarounds in the LAR patch notes, so you can always check there as well first.

Sorry, I meant db's not bins, my fault... I updated previous post as well.

You need to unpack the db's with an unpacker. The db files are the main file "containers" that have ALL of the game files. There are 2 in the root dir named "gamedata" db0 and db1. Then there are 14 others in the gamedata dir. as well.

If it is not there (gamedata\scripts), then you did not fully extract the db's. Ensure to extract the two db's in the root dir as well.

If you did not hit the first time points are awarded (I think after fox?) then you may not need to start a new game. You will have to test it yourself, in theory I think replacing those 1's with another #, 4 in your case, should work.

I do not know the repercussions of how it would affect later game though. If there was some kind of cap built in, or some other unforeseen issue. My guess is it will just crash, but there will be no turning back and you would need to start a new game and revert back to the original file.

Just to make sure on same page, as it is not my doing. I have no programming capability to even begin to tinker with how the dev mode works. Unless it has something to do with the updated bins or configurator as you mention, but I really have no idea as I did not create them.

See if you can get the dev mode working through bypassing the configurator. Instructions to do so are in the LAR patch notes.

Not sure sorry, but I do not think so.

What are trying to do? Just edit the actor ltx if you want faster run speed, or more carry weight, etc... if that is what you are trying to do.

Nope, but you could change the amount rewarded if you really wanted to. You would need to unpack the files, then look for "xr_effects.script" in the scripts folder.

Search for the keyword "skill." Then play around with the point distribution qty. There are some instances of 1 in there, try changing those 1's to 2's and see what happens. A new game may be required to see the changes.

You would not want to change it to a large #, or a # that may go over the cap though. I am actually not sure what the cap is, but if you go over, I have no doubt it would crash.

LAR does not change anything that would affect the dev mode. DC (1.4007) changed how the dev mode works. I never used it, so I cannot help. There are people that got it working, but it is buried in the comments here.

Check the pastebin patch notes in LAR's description. How to get minimap back is also in there.

There is a way to get it partially working I believe (for DC, it will work with LAR as well), you would have to check back on comments here or do a google search though.

That should be fine.

Sid model is fine. And go ahead if you wish... if something crashes adding other mods, then it is the mod and I will not offer solutions for that mod/crash.

I never tried dark knights... The nights are already dark in LA. Closed sights, never tried it either, it may cause issues with some weapon changes though. Extended weather will cause crashes.

It will. If it doesn't show up when you load a save, then you would need to start a new game though.

It may be possible, but you would have to edit files. I am not sure if they are tied to the all.spawn though (if they are, then you wont be able to). If they are tied to an ltx, you could probably lower their spawn # at least. You would also have to start a new game if you were to edit it, to even test it.

Otherwise, I typically will try to trade rookies a better gun to help them survive longer.

There are no subtitles unfortunately. You are not really going to miss out on important context, as some of what is said is also in text form (from an NPC, journal entry, etc) and or large story elements are already in text form.

Because I never played with it, nor cared to. I am not a fan of those big weapon packs. Stachelhaut created a patch for the previous version of LAR (when it was my compilation), but it does not currently work for LAR.

Anyone can take the reins though to make it compatible. I am going to guess there are not that many files that would need changed/merged.

Yes, The illuminati cutscenes have been removed in DC and LAR. A lot of people are purists and enjoy SOC's story as it is (or close to it), including myself. Just to make sure we are on the same page, the "illuminati" story parts have nothing to do with SIN. SIN faction is still there.

The main problem was how the cutscenes were implemented and designed. From behind the scenes, I actually understood a little better what was trying to be done (from dev notes/scripts, etc.), but it just did not work well at the end of the day.

From a gameplay perspective, having so many forced cutscenes "stops" the players natural momentum... They are an annoyance and break immersion. Things could have been implemented more gracefully by just having PDA, or computer entries etc.

Overall, the removal of those scenes makes for a better gameplay experience in my opinion. And if people happen to like the illuminati story, then as I mentioned, you can play an older version.

I never had an issue with that mission, nor seen the behavior you mention. So I am not able to offer any insight unfortunately.

I would not consider that a "plethora," but I digress. I added a quick fix for the Nimble TRS problem in LAR.

In any case, there is no further development for LA. If you or someone else wishes to fix up anything that remains, you are more then welcome to.

What are the "remaining plethora of bugs?" DC and LAR are both playable from start to finish (LAR being even more polished).

Please check with the SWR mod author, as that does not happen normally. So it is caused by that mod, or some other one not compatible.

EDIT: I did not realize that new weapon addon was called SWR for short.

DC, DCE and LAR are the 3 versions available for LA, outlined in this pinned article here:

Moddb.com

Is your PC old? Or, do you use a AMD vid card? LA does not play nicely with them. If you have a combination of an old/potato PC and AMD vid card, then you may have trouble running it as you are here.

Have you tried static lighting as well?

This offers no information... Are you playing DC, DCE, or LAR? When does it crash, at the launcher, in game, etc? Does it create a crash log in "X\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha DC\appdata"?

Please update your description if this also works with LAR or not as people will ask.

EDIT: I just took a quick look and it would require some merging, so it wont work straight away.

You have PRM weapon mod installed, LAR is not compatible with it.

EDIT: Also, there is no LAR extended on google drive... There is DCE (which is DC extended) and LAR does not work with it at all.

Reinstall everything. Remove LADC from your drive and start fresh. Follow my instructions exactly and it will work.

NPC name changes will only appear when starting a new game. The names get baked into current saves.

There is no setting in game, you would need to dig through the files to reverse engineer it.
