Yeah, a movie, I know we should... hehe.
Maybey with the next release, cause from now on we will be more focussing on adding stuff, new gametypes, more cars, tracks etc. The basic racing engine is now nearly done.

We decided to not spend lots of polys on the player model, our mod is heavy enough without player models, so ading high detailed player models would need even more.
How ever I agree that they can be a bit better, and we will make the next models a bit more detailed, after using this model as test we noticed that the fps cost wasnt that noticable for the models, so yeah we will increase the detail on these.

Damn me and my english, thanks for the correction, ill fix it for the next version.

The old cars where indeed very good, and making own designs, well we are not car designers for a living ;)
And no changing existing models a bit doesnt get you of the hook of being wrong, yes they will never win a law suite any more , but we wanted to on the right side of the line.

Good to hear that you like the MOD.

I understand your issue with the jump/exit vehicle key bind. I kept that from the bulldog stuff to keep it as much as 'standard' with normal UT as possible.
But Uspeed does use a different INI for the user keys so you could just move the bind without altering the normal UT2003 settings.
But ill see if i can make you a seperate key bind for exiting vehicles instead of combined, ill ask the team and lets see what they want.

I forgot one line in my above quick fix:

MainMenuClass=UnrealSpeed.USMainMenu

You need to change that also in the UNrealspeed.ini after you copy the content from UT2003.ini

Yes we want all the feedback you guys want to give us.
But remember that the thing is not nearly to our final goal, our final goal is so far ahead i didnt want people to wait for such a long time.
So we decided to release version as we increase towards our goals.

Some weird things are happening with the intro movie it seems.

You can try the follwing to solve this

Copy the content from UT2003.ini to the UNrealspeed.ini
Change this lines:

replaace this one

LocalMap=UnrealSpeedIntro.ut2

add this one

Paths=../UnrealSpeed/Maps/*.ut2

in the correct sections.

Tell me if it works for you.

mappers issue ;)
many textures are set too default material, the default generates small stones and black clouds.
The mapper needs too tune this up a bit, and request some new settings if no good ones are in, i wrote that feature sunday afternoon a couple of hours before release too kill some time.

I found a way too make a shortcut based on your selected folder, in the start menu.
So the next version will no longer have that problem
I will also watch the ini stuff

I fixed the Toyota from rolling over so thats ok in the next version also.

I hope this gives you all some hope again.

Sorry, the the INI and shortcut stuff is unfortunate, i will fix this asap.
About the number, well I guess we all are fighting about alpha or beta again, seems a bit pointless IMHO.
This is a beta for testing installer and coding. The RC1 will have its own graphics for the HUD etc. These are minor additions too a working code base.

I now have a good idea about the installer issues, ini's and shortcut give many problems. The control is something that every person will feel differently about, but please specify what you dont like about it. Please remember also that the control is designed too be done by joysticks, gamepads and racing wheels, the keyboard is in any racing game a pain in the but, but good ideas are always welcome.
