I just finished the 2020 demo version of Trenchfoot, and I want more. This is just a fantastic piece of work. I am running it on an older computer with a lower resolution and the graphics is just perfect. The simultaneity of sounds and sights is so well orchestrated. Someone please tell me what the latest release for this project is and provide a link if possible. Thanks.

On the Linux Mint version of EDuke32 there is a problem with Duke32 running this mode even with the windows eduke32.exe and another related file excluded. Anybody have any success running this on an Ubuntu-based Linux distro?

Using the gzdoom launch command in the desktop launcher for Mint what is the order for the mod files after -file?

Well, that's certainly informative. But I don't think this game has that functionality. If it did, I would certainly use it to look around and see where I missed something like the position of a sniper. In the games I've played, and nowhere near as many as you, with maybe an exception or two, they all have not allowed me to save when my health status is zero. I know this because I play to get better by trying different tactics in difficult situations. So, I do a lot of saving and reloading and at least once in every game hit F6 instead of F9 and discover the mistake when the save doesn't reload, and I have to hit F9 to load like I intended.

You misunderstood. They keep you from overwriting a save when your alive and would lose a better more desirable position in the save or maybe forgot you wanted a new save file and keep the old one. They will not let you override a save when your dead, because obviously no one would desire that. The only thing you might possibly want to save from that is a screenshot.

How cam you keep from accidently doing a quick safe at a death spot. I have lost so much progress by clicking [F6] instead of [F9] when I am at zero point. Every game I've played will not let you save with 0 health points except this one. I looked for an addon do add a kind of fail safe feature that prevents you from doing that, but couldn't find one. I am not familiar with scripting, but I am pretty sure the answer is a conditional If then statement. What's the statement and where do you put? I know somebody is saying while "Why don't read the prompt that asks you if you want to do the save?". Well, for me after doing it some many times, I don't always double check it.

How come there's coffee everywhere in this game, but the "use" key won't let you drink it. I think that should be an opportunity to add health points. Oh, and it should give you more points than toilet water in the sense that one cup gives you an immediate point surge. Instead of slurping every point.

I just started warming up the game last night - a kind of non-challenging play run to check the settings for any possible changes, and I've got to say I was amazed at the graphics for the modest power of my PC which is generation or two above the tuber classification. No settings had to be changed. Nice job.

This is what got on extraction of the zip:

[folder] README
COMMMAND.TXT
COVERT.BAT
COVERT.SCR
COVERT.WAD
doom2.wad
EDGE.CFG
EDGE.WAD
EDGE32.EXE

When I ran the COVERT.BAT I got this message:

"Edge Engine

Unable to initialize graphics 320 x 200 x 256cl"

When I placed the EDGE.WAD on the shortcut (how all the wads launch), I just got map 1 of Doom II.

You can't crouch or jump in it. Is there an addon to change that? Update: actually, the starting position of the game was the part of it where I missed those features. Their absence is really not a problem for playing the rest of the game. Which I am really enjoying.

I don't know if this is relevant, but the file I downloaded is suspiciously small given what it's supposed to deliver.

I enjoyed it. Although simple in some respects, it's almost a homage to the older shooter arcade games. It's addictive despite its simplicity. I found it grew on me, and I enjoyed the challenge of eyes open shoot fast. A few notes: the shot gun blast sounds like a rifle. The last secret I thought was the exit. But according to the stats it's not. And where's that last straggler hiding? Is he playing possum as the passed-out drunk in the saloon. Some spur jingling would be nice. The saloon doors good have a swing sound and maybe and the illusion of movement. One state open, one state their closed. Overall, Good TC mod. Thank you.

I finally got a file Windows would download, but it's zip method is not recognized by the "Wizard". Checksum is okay. But after reading the reviews I am not sure this is worth figuring that out. Am I confusing this mod with one that was highly rated in a review of top TCs for Doom? Any replies are welcome.

Microsoft has marked this as unsafe malware. The mirror source has diabolical hidden in their name.

I just tried the first level with the simplicity of a person's first map making attempt on an editor, and what scared me is that I had a warning of malware by Microsoft Defender with the first two attempts to download. It was like just enough to be called a mod as a decoy for a trojan. I got the BFG within the first minute of the game by going into a guard tower! Which brings me to another point. If you going to populate a map with prefabs like the guard towers, why not jazz them up with items and textures, since you only got to make one. I hope this first level is just a warmup, and the rest of the levels are much better. I couldn't hop on a short platform in a tunnel alcove for cover, because its sector was blocked.
