BUG REPORT for COF Administrators:
Installation type: COF Standalone (Steam)
Problem: Failure to load
Description: The game can't actually do anything but load into the 2D menu, even the 3D menu doesnt work. Whenever I select NEW GAME/3D MENU a loading bar appears, reaches somewhere around 40% and then just halts, and returns to the 2D menu, nothing happens.
System: Laptop, NVIDIA GT630M, Win7Pro64, 6GB RAM, i7 mobile.
Note: You should dump in AOMDC (raw) into a custom campaign, or maybe i'll use your SDK to remake it since it doesnt work in HL1 anymore.

Light bug: When entering a room the map doesnt load and instead its just pure white. Fix: Upon entering, DONT MOVE, turn around 180 degrees and press the use button, that should bring you back to the previous map. Try again to enter the next section with you're light off.
CRASH & TEMP FIX REPORT
Reporting the following crashes caused by attempting to attack any enemy at these points in the game thus far:
- Fatal crash when first encountering the hammer zombies that have been pulled against the wall by the hole-in-the-street monster. Fix: sprint/jump/crouch-jump past them and ignore them for now. When you come back through those areas you'll either be able to kill them without crashing or they will have disappeared.
- Fatal crash on the train at the point where the seats are missing and you get rushed by the 3 zombies. Fix: upon entering that section of the train, walk forward just barely enough to trip the 3 zombies entering the train, then back off and engage them from the doorway. Then move forward and trip the the window monster, back up to the entrance again, and kill him.
also dont shoot them and instead just jump/sprint on past him. They game won't crash that way and you'll be able to come back and kill him.
Bug report: fatal crash at location: Custcene determining that you need to get to subway station > big monster coming out of the street that hits the car away (first encounter) > enter the vent to the left of it > drop down & kill 1st enemy > continue thru vent > encounter 2nd monster > FATAL CRASH

First of all, congratulations. I've been a fan since AOM 1 and loved all of your work. Take a break, sit back, and goddamn relax and enjoy some time off. Seems like its gona be a while before you get the full compilation of bugs in.
Secondly, I never made it past opening the door at the end of the first alleway but here are my bugs to report:
- FATAL ERROR: COM_LoadFile: Not enough space for... [will report more on this issue soon.]
- Cutscenes run extrememly laggy & walk-around-w/camera scene too. The cutscene with the guy crawling on the ground runs fine however. And the actual gameplay from when you first assume control of Simon.
I'm looking forward to playing this on my old system once I get it working if this one doesnt like it. That first scary part with the screaming head got me good.
You've made what is probably the best HL1 mod ever, and I've barely made it past the cutscene. Take your time with the patch, start when you want, and finish when you want.

Rumpel, I'm running Cry of Fear on a newer system and it seems the film grain effect is causing some severe FPS drops during play as normal play works smoothly. Whats the cmd to turn it off?

Hmm, I like the independence that the aliens have (no commander), it broadens the spectrum of gameplay available, and the independent res system for the aliens I feel is very beneficial compared to shared resources. I think having an alien commander makes the aliens to much like the marines.
Skulks been working out, that thing looks makes the old skulks look like a poodle and that's a rotweiler.
Excellent job guys, you made it sound pretty damn good. Thats one nice looking piece of tech too.
