I'm sad everyone's hating on it. Every big show seems to have some controversy surrounding it's end. Sad to see it going down in flames but every episode is gripping for me!

Silly question: is there a guide anywhere that lists the proper starting locations for each race on the bigger maps like founding fathers? Like what slot do Cardassians or Klingons need to be to spawn in their respective system that kinda thing

I just played a 2v2 match on the Bajoran map with slow income but normal rates for everything else and I noticed that the AI run into a problem. They don't seem capable of defending at all on maps where there are multiple tiers of planets surrounding the capitals. There were 2 cards and 1 fed AI, my ally was the other fed and it lost the initial expansion push and only built a Galaxy after that. After checking with my Ambassador's scan, the two cards seemed to be in the same situation and only had 1 or 2 Janissaries each. None of the AI had captured a single planet and the Cardassians both had at least one non tiered world next to them. I played with Boldy Go difficulty AIs. Some maps I've not seen this issue and the AIs are able to expand, even on normal difficulty with normal income. I think if Capitals were granted a small defending force that the AI would no longer have issues but I don't know if that is possible.

For now I think that playing on slow income with rampant militias on is not possible for AI as they are overwhelmed and never recover. I don't know if anyone even plays with slow income but just a heads up :)

I also got a look at Section 31 in that game and I have to say that the darker tones on their ships look really awesome, nice work there!

I've noticed that the Lakota refit appears to be already be equipped on my excelsiors even before the research has been completed. The icon with a check mark is on the abilities tab, is that supposed to be so?

The Ferengi Trader ability trade crystal trades metal for crystal, same as trade metal.

Very cool! I feel it wouldn't make sense if you could just construct every minor factions' ships. Good to know about the Orions though. One other question, does the AI know how to utilize minor factions? Will there be battles for control over minor factions or once you get them on your side they are yours for good? Still not 100% clear on the mechanics.

After 'gitting gud' for a couple more matches I don't feel the need to adjust anything. I was able to acquire the Hirogen (didn't realize it would be as simple as sending an envoy and making contact!) Very cool, can't wait to see the others. Is there a way to build ships? It says I need a factory but I don't see a way of building it?

I think I am in the minority here and I feel dumb to ask, but is there a way that I can tone down the rampant militia feature? I like to play with normal start (I see the difference with quick start being that I get a starbase) as I really enjoy slower paced matches. The way the neighboring militias of planets I can't cap quickly enough are able to form armadas and attack my homeworld becomes overwhelming very quickly and it seems like I need to enter into a click fest just to keep up with the swarms of ships entering my capital system. Once two militia fleets start arriving at once I feel like I am fighting a losing battle every time.

It sucks because I really enjoy what the feature has to offer but for me it is just too much at the beginning on a normal start. If the easiest solution is just to use quick start, I am ok with that. I just want to know what I can do without ruining the balance of the new features.

Unfortunately not yet, still trying to figure out how to deal with these militias. It's very difficult to capture even one planet if I am unlucky in the random generation. My last match as klingons had me surrounded by two very tough militias (Sona and another with 4k hull and shields). I'm not sure if the spawn rates are too fast or not but it seems as though they get reinforced very quickly. I have to retreat to repair quite often and it took an hour just to cap my first planet. By that time the other militia had gathered 12 of the 4k ships and invaded my homeworld which meant game over for me. I may just need to play around with the settings, I used to play TFF on slow everything but it doesn't seem to mesh well with uprising's pacing.

Uprising is a different beast entirely now with Outlaw and minor factions dlc. Really feels chaotic like much more is at stake with battles taking place regularly. Can't wait to really dive into it but my first impressions are simply that I am amazed that Armada and Sins could play this way! My first game was crazy, the Breen privateers are no joke. They rolled in with 5 boarded Maquis carriers, a decent sized cardassian fleet they had captured plus their own ships. My old strategies feel useless.

I absolutely love that planets spawn their own ships and watching them move to take out nearby wells is a joy. Really feels like a brand new game and the massive amount of work you've put into it lately really shines. Huge props to Gul and the gang!

Yay now I have a reason to pick up the latest DLCs. I honestly can't believe the amount of work you guys continue to pour into this mod! I love this team so much for what you have given us. Ironclad made a great game too but Armada 3 really is why I picked the game up. Can't wait to play with all the new features!

One question I have is that I noticed that TFF maps are no longer in the list, are they gone or am I blinded by my excitement?

Do you guys have a patreon or something? I don't have much to give but I really wish to support you guys with some material appreciation. <3

I made sure to repair the tank to full and have the remaining crew return inside after the fight was over before I saved the game. Hopefully that can be fixed :(

Hey Zeke, this mod is a lot of fun but if I'm using a tank and some of the crew die then the tank will disappear next mission and I'm left with just the remaining crew on foot.

Wow you guys are amazing. This new release is just outstanding, it really is. I am in the middle of the most interesting campaign on a large tff map with random events on. First thing is I love what you all have done with the textures, I'm zooming in more often for sure. Also, the random events are a lot more balanced now. In this 6? star map, I've seen a few events pop off in the two hours I've put in. One such event was a borg cube appearing near my star and annihilating all the nearby planets including a pirate base all before I had even reached the star with my fleet. It sat bombarding an asteroid while ignoring the star base so I had control the entire time but it just endlessly bombarded which I was happy for as it gave me time to put together a counter fleet. I ended up making friends with a klingon and romulan group just as they were warping fleets in to attack me or the cube (still not sure what exactly they were up to) and we ended up having a 3 fleet battle to take the cube down. Probably the most interesting turn of events I've seen yet with your mod. After the battle, the klingons and romulans tore each other apart while my fleet fell back for repairs. It felt so much like a scene straight out of the shows. A big thank you again to all of you, you've really put a lot of work into this and I, for one, am enjoying it thoroughly!

Also am having this same problem on all maps that I have tried with all factions. Constructor gets as close as possible and just keeps trying to get closer. Tried using multiple constructors and also having them come in from different directions but nothing happens each time. Other than that, loving the feel of the ships and the flavor text on everything. Thank you!

Thanks Max! You all are truly a light in the dark. I bought Sins specifically for this mod and I don't know how much of the game you've been able to adjust within the limits of what's editable but I never am playing this and feel something is out of place or not right with how each faction develops/behaves over the course of the game. I'm digging the updates in the dev diaries and am very excited for what's to come!

Hey team, I wanted to say that I've been a long time follower of the progress of this mod. Honestly, I haven't had this much uninterrupted absolute fun in a very long time. I love logging on to Sins to live out a true Star Trek experience for a few hours and just getting lost in the immersion you all have created. All of the attention that has been put into all the details (which I completely understand are still being developed) that are in this mod are staggering to me. And I wanted to truly thank the team and wish you all a very fortuitous continuation to this great project.

I'd like to ask what was the initial overall dream you had for your idea? How do you hope to realize on screen your dream? Is there a possibility of perhaps creating a completely original, truly detailed Star Trek Empire sim based on it's own code and designed around everything that made the lore and stories so memorable?
