One of the best choice of commercially licensed game engine. It uses BASIC, which is easy to learn. It comes with great IDE based on Geany. The license price is quite cheap and it's one off payment, not subscription. It can target multi platform. If you prefer, you can program in C++ in Visual Studio, Android Studio, etc.
The only downside is the lack of OOP feature, which I find quite useful in competing game engine.
