Hello, I am the lead on a 2D fantasy action Platformer that has been in development for around 8 months. Our team consists of myself, an artist/animator, 1 programmer, 1 illustrator, and one sound designer. We are looking for an extra role for an artist on the team, specifically a character animator. Mostly, if chosen for the role, you would start off helping me make rough animations for the player and enemies to help map out the timing and general motion. If it works out well, maybe that could expand to making the finished artwork as well, but the first part is what we are really looking for. I use Adobe Flash and Adobe After Effects, which I would prefer you use, but any 2D animation software that can run frame by frame drawings will work too.
At the moment we have the player fully built, as well as three enemies, and 4 sections of the first map all made. All of the animations and artwork are in a rough state however, and will need to be polished in order to make sure the transition to the final artwork is as smooth as possible.
A lot of these projects on this site wither and die, but if you join our team, you will see that we are all fiercely dedicated to this game and will not stop until we release the first demo level. If you want to be on a team that produces a finished product, this is the team to be on. Our first goal is to produce one level to share with the public, but after that I have a detailed, yet realistic plan to approach the rest of the game and its 8 total levels.
to describe the story briefly, it is a highly combat focused platformer fantasy game centered around a character who discovers a hidden magical power that makes them stronger and more powerful in magic, but slowly corrupts their mind. How far will they let their mind be poisoned in order to achieve their goals? This story condensed that short sounds simple, but it has lots of twists and unique elements to make it stand out from other similar plots. If accepted to the team, the entire plot is written out and will be shared with you.
