Unable to launch Desura Thread - Desura

Whenever I log in to Desura, I always receive an error message telling me that Desura has crashed, and that I can either restart Desura or force an update.

Both of these options don't appear to do anything as with either a restart or update, Desura continues to crash at login.

Any ideas?

I am having the same problem!

I was downloading a couple mods and all of a sudden, everything in a Desura window dissapeared and I recieved the same message and neither option seems to do anything.

Maybe I was downloading too much at once for Desura? I have noticed it doesnt have anything programed to handle updates through it so maybe it was overloaded?

Any other ideas?

I had this problem too!

i was downloading a mod for half-life 2 and then the window closed and i got the massage this also happened to my friend when he tried to download the same mode can someone please help i lost 3 of my favorite games ( amnesia: the dark decent/ Half-Life 2/Dead Pixels)

Same here. Even uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix it.

Different error type Flyboy.

This is about the error that asks you to force an update or restart, both which have no effect.

I too am suffering this problem. Is there any form of a solution for this error.
P.S.: I run a Windows 7 64-bit system with 3.4 GHz CPU and a 12 GB Ram

Same issue as OP, Desura crashes right after login. Using XP SP3.
This started happening right after issues with installing a game, and eventually installing it manually with the standalone files, then having Desura verify the files.

Edit: Something I did fixed it.
-Deleted _old and log files in the main Desura installation folder.
-Deleted userinfo.upi in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Desura\DesuraApp folder.
-Emptied the cache, crc, dumps and temp folders in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Desura\DesuraApp.
No idea where these files are on W7, so YMMV.

I too have this problem, right after I tried downloading Half Life 2: Wars through it. I tried doing what cyxceven said, and can't seem to find the App Data folder in the All Users folder so I can't find those Caches and such. Didn't work, so it'd I suppose would be those ones I couldn't get to. Using a Vista if anyone was interested.

Same problem here nothing seems to work.

@zerokoolkc Good idea im gonna try this right now! When i installed this Half life 2 mod like others have and it made me crash when i login... its very annoying
