As Arcanus pushed north from the Azillation Mountains, these nomadic tribes avoided confrontation and the conquering hordes. It would seem though, that wherever they went, they were encroaching on somebody else’s lands and they were driven off at the end of a spear. Finally, they came upon peoples of Arnnor; the diminutive shape-shifter Berrat and the fearsome, yet pacifistic Gigas. The nomads shared many similarities with these northern people and were gladly accepted into their midst. Together, these races thrived and spread across the north. As much as I found my new tutorial system helpful, the Beta testers didn't like the way it hand-held them. Based on the feedback, the tutorial is being revised (again) to be event driven, only showing up when the player is doing something new or when something new has happened to the player.
The new design is working very well, but it created a bunch of work I wasn't planning for.
The next Beta release is now looking like early June, rather than May 18.
You can see videos of the new tutorial system at:

For some reason, my voice-over came out with a really bad Australian accent. It was terrible, but it made me laugh so I left it in for now.
Since the Beta was released on Dec 1 2018, most of the Beta testers indicated that the game was too complicated and/or that the user interface was not intuitive.
In response to that, I've been redesigning the UI to make it more streamlined. But, more importantly, I've also been adding a complete guided tutorial for the game that will introduce players to all the key components of the game. Ideally, this tutorial plus the on-demand Help system will be enough to get players fully immersed into the game.
To help with the Tutorial, the game's storyline has been greatly expanded. This new storyline will help to give the players an understanding of the game world they're interacting with.
The expected release date of this totally revised Beta is May 18th, 2019.
