VALHALLA is a free and open source FPS that draws inspiration from a variety of classic arena shooters, with the aim of being a reimagining of the genre. Built on an upgraded iteration of the open-source Cube Engine 2, VALHALLA seamlessly merges the high-speed gameplay of Cube 2 with modern touches, enhancing the experience without deviating much from its core mechanics. The game introduces a reinterpretation of the popular and intuitive multiplayer map editor, enriched with a wide array of modern rendering techniques such as dynamic omnidirectional shadows, global illumination, HDR lighting, deferred shading, anti-aliasing and more, resulting in a gaming experience that resonates with both nostalgia and innovation.
