As part of their regular sale rotation, GOG has kicked off their "strategy week" which has some heavy-hitting, classic strategy games on sale, as well as some new contenders. RTS and strategy have a historical basis in modding support and are some of the most moddable games around, so here's our picks for five games from the sale and a mod for each!

At First Edition, you buy a book called "A Diary Of A Dead Man". You learn that someone lived in a big manor and its last days in it were a nightmare. On the first page of the book, you find a map on which you can locate the manor. Once there, strange things happen to you - paranormal phenomenon. Then, you learn about the existence of a guild. A little bit after they have recruited you, a terrible thing happens and you are the only survivor. You have to find out what is happening in this strange place...

The God Phone replaces Sarah Bennet's hand-held HAM Radio transceiver found in the radio station in The Ward. This mod includes a Scoped Bolt-Action a Rifle, Red Machete, Brass Knuckles, an AK-47, a Glock 17, Desert Eagle and M1911 which you can spawn using the phone. Dial 411 SND for the Emergency Supply Directory. This mod adds an interesting sandbox element to an unusual title and allows players to tweak the game a little more to their liking and explore more action!

As a thin-blood you have some qualities of an Inceptor and through that eventually develop a set of disciplines unique to yourself. As a thin-blood your Insight is expressed as +2 Inspection. This mod considerably changes the core VTMB gameplay journey with a little inspiration from the book for diehard fans of the series.

The Full Combat Rebalance mod is a huge mod created for The Witcher. The combat mechanics have been remade almost from the scratch. The aim was to maximize the realism of the gameplay, this way making it more similar to the world created by Andrzej Sapkowski and maintaining the gameplay to the highest possible standard at the same time. The fights have became more brutal, they need more tactics and strategy, but on the other hand the combat system rules have become more logical.
