We feel like doing the same here with The Seed and we hope that you will find an interest. And If not: don't worry - there will be plenty of Seed lore and gameplay revealed and shared during the Kickstarter campaign also.
Misery Development Ltd. are always on the lookout for abandoned
and ruined locations to gather footage for the game.
We use bi-podded Canon 550D with quality lenses for majority of our photos to ensure a high image resolution, that is more than sufficient to provide us with quality footage.
For The Seed we create ingame artwork in 2048x1536 pixels to fully support the high resolution of Retina Displays. But most artworks are designed in resolutions much higher than that.
Unedited, raw photos
As an international team composition we find ourselves extremely privileged with a treasure chest of locations right at our door step. Going location scouting in 8 different countries enables us to establish and design exactly the artwork compositions that we need to have the eastern setting be as captivating and interesting as humanly possible.
Even at this stage in development we have been able to gather photos from a good handful of countries including:
- Russia
- Poland
- Macedonia
- Germany
- United Kingdom
- Denmark
- Morocco
- Kosovo
(and we will be scouting for even more!)
Image transformation
Every shot is heavily manipulated and visually refined for a specific purpose in the game. In The Seed some scenes are composed of 5 or more real life location shots.

You should try Detroit, USA. Especially this time of year.
The radiation is manageable and the cold keeps the bandits indoor, mostly.
I was about to suggest that, rofl.
