The next big update for Rocket is now available! This update introduces the new Arcade Mode to the game. Unlike the other 3 game modes (Classic, Cadet, Galactic Hero), you will start with no upgrades each new play session. With just sing shot rockets at your disposal, you will need to survive in the deadly vastness of space. As you start shooting down asteroids and enemies, Upgrade pop ups will appear in the game allowing you to power up instantly. Each new playthrough will be completely random and chaotic and should bring about a lot of fun.
This new update also adds 3 brand new Achievements to the game. Each of the new Achievements is related to playing the new game mode. I'm looking forward to everyone unlocking these new achievements and playing the game.
What's Next?
This is just 1 of many new updates you can expect for the next few months. You will be able to find new game modes, enemies, achievements, ship upgrades and overall features added. But here is what is in the cards right now:
Survive Mode - This will be similar to Arcade Mode, you start with nothing. Here you are given limited resources & no rocket regen. You will need to survive X amount of time in each level to advance to the next level. Every time you survive a level, you will be given a popup allowing you to choose 1 of 3 Ship Upgrade options. Each new Level takes a little more time and your rockets will be refilled. Don't have to defeat all the enemies or asteroids here, just need to survive and get out of harms way long enough to advance to the next level. This should make for some fun challenging gameplay. Expect to be able to play this new game mode sometime by May or June.
New Ship Upgrades - You can expect several new fun Ship Upgrades to come to the game in the next few months. These will be sprinkled throughout the various weekly updates to the game. Here are some of the various new upgrades in the works:
- Shield - A protective upgrade that temporarily prevents you from taking damage
- Score Multiplier - An upgrade that will increase the Score you get in the game at the cost of having the game be harder.
- New Weapon Options - Need I say more?
Fun Visual Mode Unlock - A fun new retro visual look is in the works for the game that can be unlocked. This will make the game look and feel like a classic game from the 70s & 80s.
Rocket is a Bullet Hell, High Stakes Arcade Shooter & Score Chaser. Use your skills to survive the onslaught of asteroids, enemies, black holes and the chaos of rockets and bombs everywhere. Upgrade your ship over time and enjoy the challenge. How high can you score?
