Now that the attract mode looks half decent, the time has come to design some actual levels. The game consists of six planets, each with it's own theme. The first candidate is the ice planet "Elenessia" which consists of icebergs, mountains, rocks, ice tunnels and an eight layer parallax scrolling ocean. There is even the obligatory end of level boss area. How the boss actually gets in there I have no idea but that's not important right now. What is important is that I've managed to create a full level minus some actual enemies. Much adjustment to come I'm sure.

Thank you! The graphics are based on a 256x192 screen resolution with a 15 colour palette like the ZX Spectrum. The idea is to have three screens laid out horizontally to create the wide play area, much like the Darius arcade game. I'm intrigued by digitising graphics as well to create the scenery stuff like rocks and icebergs etc. Again these are limited to the resolution and palette.
