Formerly "Planeswalker" The old versions can still be found in the Downloads section. I'm currently recoding the entire game creating a far better engine that will likely even be open for modding. To those new: Dawn and Planeswalker are RPG style games with a turn based combat system. Dawn will have slightly altered gameplay, more focussed on mercenaries so the battles will be rarer but will have more fighters thus increasing the strategy aspect.
As you may have noticed there hasnt been any update of Planeswalker recently. This is simply because i currently lack time to do work much on it. However i had an interesting idea concerning the gameplay that i would like to discuss.
Currently the player is playing all alone engaging enemies that come in small groups or alone, leading to a lot of small fights. The idea that came to my mind a while ago was not to pit the palyer against these enemies alone but to allow him to hire mercenaries whose abilities he then can use in battle. So instead of fighting alone the player controls additional soldiers, adding a new layer of strategy into the game.
Also the fights would be harder and less in number. Does this sound interesting?
It might take a lot of reworking on the code, so i would be happy about some ppl helping me out with coding and creating graphics etc.
After about 10 failed attempts to use the uploaderit seems that it finally worked! Hopefully you will enojoy the 3rd version of it thats now completely...
With most of the Staff overseas exploring GDC and all its wonders, Dave is left to cover the site and bring you the Modcast with a new guest.
This is the Planeswalker game with some code fixes, a few new enemies and maps aswell as updated skills and graphics. Read more below.
It has been a while since the first upload of Planeswalker on Moddb and some of you might have waited for more. Even with my exams going on i took some...
First public release. To install just copy the folder onto the drive, unpack it and start Planeswalker_Publicrelease_3. exe from there. Have fun :)
Hi, I get an 'Illegal memory address' error when running the final release, both in windowed and fullscreen. I'm running windows 7 ultimate. I've tried running it in admin and in xp compatibility.
Haven't tried it in Windows 7. Does the error come up right from the start?
The beta 4 works fine. I noticed the exe in the final version is way smaller than the one in the beta 4 download. Could that have somethign to do with it? The copying beta 4 then copying final over it doesn't work either.
Yes, it does. It black screens for a moment and then the error pops up.
perhaps try an older version and then overwrite it with the new one. Might be just a missing image or sound that isnt included in the new version.
If this works please tell me so i can find out whats wrong and upload a proper version.
if you guy/guys need any help on this, let me no :)
i like it! :)
Eh, needs some more work on the graphics.
Feel free to make better graphics for meif you can :P
Also i cannot wast my time on making pretty graphics while not coding on, fixing bugs etc.
