Basically, since the only way to improve your stats is to use books, which is excellent, in that it eliminates grinding and encourages exploration, but there's one problem:

Suppose you have a warrior, an archer, and a mage. The mage would take all of the intelligence books, the archer would take most-to-all of the dexterity books, and the warrior would take the majority of the strength and constitution books. They'd each have stats well-allocated to suit their combat roles.

But suppose you had two warriors, or even three. The intelligence and dex books would be nigh useless, and you'd have to split the strength and constitution books between your fighters evenly, each having fewer stat bonuses than they would if you had merely one warrior.

Thus, having more than one character who makes significant use of the same stat is inefficient and weakens your overall party, which I don't think is reasonable. If I want to have two fighters, they should each individually be just as competent at fighting as my one archer is at arching and my one spellcaster is at spellcasting.

To solve this, I would recommend replacing the individual stat and attribute increasing books with books that let you improve the stat of your choice upon study.

Alternatively, the ratios of stat books could be allocated based on your party's initial stats upon generating the world. If the stat points you allocated to your party members were 20% str, 30% con, 22% dex and 28% int, those would be the odds that each generated stat manual would be that type.

Amazing game, it's a shame it isn't more popular. I'm going to do a let's play to help spread the word as much as I can. Best of luck with 1.10, and I hope you consider this suggestion!
