Machinations is a real-time strategy game where you manage and direct swarms of ships to take over and destroy your enemies. Plan your attacks carefully to gain the the most tactically advantageous Nodes (space-stations which build and house your fleet). Upgrade your Nodes with defensive lasers or build shipyards to augment your fleet. Capture super-weapons to cut swathes through your enemies' fleet. Play against up to three AI players in frantic, randomised melees matches. Or complete the Campaign mode to help Admiral Sudo (your robotic commander) reclaim his lost empire.

My feedback on the tutorial levels (from version 0.0.2) :

Level 1 : demonstrates the power of upgraded stations, but that you can't just take it over with one un-upgraded station.
Level 2 : like Level 1, but on a larger scale.
Level 3 : demonstrates the power of many small stations over few upgraded stations.
Level 4 : terrible - you can win in one second :P
Level 5 : demonstrates the need for strong reinforcements when attacking a heavily defended enemy
Level 6 : it has a big laser and that's about it :)

Most of them demonstrate valid strategic concepts, which is good.

I would perhaps recommend some "dumber" levels before Level 1... I actually found Level 1 slightly tricky from the point of view that it almost requires you to immediately work out that synchronising ships from multiple stations to hit one base at the same time is necessary to take down a heavily defended station.

The levels weren't supposed to be tutorial as such (although the feedback is still appreciated). They were really just the ones there so that we, as developers, could test functionality (hence level 4 :P ). In the next version we will have a proper tutorial campaign that has much easier (and quicker) levels that run you through the controls and concepts with instructions.
