Hello again! This is the second of two articles that will be published about Lucid Insanity, which means this is the last one.

For those who didn't saw the first article, Lucid Insanity is a game inspired by the song Even Flow (released in 1991 by the famous band Pearl Jam). And for those who read the first article, just know that the game ideas have changed a lot.

In comparison with the first article, there were a lot of changes to the game. Our ideas changed completely and are now completly defined.

This game was developed in GB Studio.

Our goal for this project remains the same, which is to provide an enjoyable experience to the player that represents a bit of song that it's inspired by.

Lucid Insanity is a top-down platformer game inspired by the song Even Flow, by Pearl Jam, and it follows a man that as already had too many drinks and needs to relieve himself. However, when he supposedly goes to the bathroom, he finds himself outside? That's weird… but hey, the night is still young and there's a drink right of him, so…

In the last week, our team has worked on:

  • Implementing the Game Design ideas that our Game Designer came up with.
  • The art of the game, which was all made in pixel-art, and the colours used were the ones from the Gameboy traditional pallet.
  • All the art and ideas (mechanics, narrative, and more) were implemented into a Gameboy-style game using GB Studio, and these are the results!

Here are some images of the project:

We sincerely hope you like it, and for those who listen to Even Flow daily because it was part of your childhood, we hope it represented well the meaning of the song and it gave a nostalgic felling.

Thank you for playing!

See you soon.
