This is starting to look like a worthy indie game with the new header and description pic, all thanks goes to Croco. I have been keeping a bit of news from you guys, we have a player model ready, but im holding on to it until the next update, so keep tracking!!! I have started texturing the arena's hallway or "Death's Hall' here are some eyecandy, its still in progress work so please crit within the next 10hours and Ill see if I can change/fix anything that might be off.

After looking at the feed back I got form the last update, I decided to texture the weapons myself.
A texture artist joined and textured the pugio, falcata and gladius.
After getting some requests for weapons to be in Version 0.01, I modeled them and here they are, The Gladius, Khopesh & Trident
3 Down, 7 to go, as you might not know Version 0.01 will only feature 10 weapons, here it the Spatha, Falcata & Pugio

what might make this interesting imo is different fighting styles varying the moves and what u need to do to counter them.

would be REALLY REALLY NICE! if u make diferent styles of gladiators like murmillo, hoplomachus, etc...
and a really really realistic fight system (like 1 hit = dead xD )

As for your question, you will have different play styles where you can assign your skill points into, but that wont be in Version 0.01 of the game and "1 hit = dead" will be a bit extreme for a fighting game and it will get annoying.

Have you played Overgrowth?
It is an anamorphic rabbit fighting game where one slice with a sword and you are dead. The system works extremely well, and has not yet been even the slightest bit annoying.
It all depends on what you give the player to defend themselves with, like parrying, dodging, armor, etc.
love that game too
