Derelict public final
DemoThe final build for this stage of the project. Mostly some polish over the previous version and minor gameplay tweaks.
Derelict is a first-person survival and exploration game. The player is tasked with surviving on an inhospitable desert planet after crashing there with his ship. If the player manages to survive long enough, he might just find a way to escape and return home. By exploring the player can use his surroundings to survive and find the parts to repair a ship.
Loot crashsites, refill your water canteen with moisture from flora and search derelict cargo containers for rations. If the player can manage his resources and survive the inhospitable landscape he might have a chance to reach his goal.
The game is currently under development by a team of fourteen students from the minor Game Design & Development at the "Hogeschool Rotterdam". They are tasked with making a 3D game in the span of fourteen weeks. Not a small task, considering most of them have almost none to no previous experience in game development and 3D modeling.
We're using Epic Games' Unreal Engine. Next to using the free assets coupled with Unreal our Art team has made all the items, ships and some of the other assets, such as debris and metal containers. The map is made by the producer/interim level designer. The concept (gameplay mechanics, setting and story) has been thought up by the Game Design team. The development team used blueprints and C++ code to implement the features as described in the Game Design Document made by the Game Design team.

Just played a bit of your alpha build. I love the atmosphere and the music is very fitting! I really felt alone on this desert planet!
I am kinda confused as to what parts I need to fix the ship, found a few laying around but not sure how to proceed? I assume that once you have the parts needed, there would be a message or something? Do I need to double back?
Love the sand monsters as well as the roaming creatures.
Keep up the great work!
If you've reached the right ship you should see yellowish outlines of the missing parts. Use that as indication of what you need.
Thanks for the feedback, very nice to read ;)
okay, thanks!
Is this supposed to work on WinXP? I tried it on 2 different XP sp3 machines and get the "... is not a valid win32 application" error message.
Ah, sorry. We haven't verified it to work on XP. My guess is it only works on win7+. It is a 32-bit build though.
We think the same?.

Simple advice: please, describe your game, put more screenshots, list the features and improve your icon. Your page looks cheap and fastmade. Im not complaining, it's just an advice
Added it to our "To Do" list ;)
