Dead Man’s Hand is a 2-8 player online party game that combines the classic game of Russian Roulette with the unpredictable nature of card games. At the start of each round, each player draws a card. After the cards are dealt, one random player gets a turn as the Holder. During their turn as the Holder, they may use any cards they have collected to influence the flow of the game. To finish their turn, the Holder chooses a Target to shoot. If the Target survives the ordeal, they get to draw an extra card and the weapon is passed to the next player. The round ends when a bullet is fired, and the survivors go on to the next round.

Featuring private lobbies and public matchmaking, will you be a winner? Or will the next Dead Man’s Hand… be yours?

Welcome to Dead Man’s Hand Saloon. Situated on the edge of the wild frontier, our clientele come from all over to partake in our unique offerings of libations and entertainment. Of course, most are here for one reason in particular— the very game that is our namesake. Step on into our back room and see for yourself. Just be careful if you decide to play— the next Dead Man’s Hand might be yours.

Dead Man’s Hand features a deck of cards that can be used to change the flow of the game. One card is drawn by every player at the start of a new round. Players who survive being targeted also draw one card after being fired upon.

Should you shoot yourself and try to get an extra card, or should you choose someone else and try to eliminate them? Decisions like these will determine the outcome of the game. Just remember…

Only One Player Can Win Dead Man’s hand!

DEAD MAN’S HAND: Card Roulette Action Announced by Black Garden Studios, Set to Launch During 2024 Solar Eclipse at High Noon

Black Garden Studios, Creators of Necrofugitive, Announce A Brand New Multiplayer Title that Mixes Card Games and Russian Roulette within a Steampunk Wild West Setting.

March 2024 | Black Garden Studios has announced DEAD MAN’S HAND: Card Roulette Action, a brand new multiplayer party title that promises to put a new spin on Russian Roulette. Combining elements of Steampunk, Dystopian Cyberpunk, and the Wild West with robots, revolvers, and playing cards, the game’s announcement comes with a release date of April 8th at “High Noon” to coincide with the 2024 solar eclipse passing over the United States.

Pull the trigger...

In Dead Man’s Hand: Card Roulette Action, players will take control of robotic gamblers who wager their lives on thrilling games of Russian Roulette and card playing. Players take turns shooting at themselves or others while playing various different cards that influence the flow of gameplay, ranging from stealing another player’s cards to deflecting bullets toward other players. Those who survive the pull of the trigger get to draw an additional card, leaving players with the strategic choice of building a better hand or trying to eliminate the competition.

Game Interface

Before the game’s release, the studio will be hosting a series of private play tests through Steam. Players who wish to participate can sign up by visiting the game’s Steam page and opting into the playtest.

Stan Morris, Game Designer and Creative Lead of the title, says:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to finally announce DEAD MAN’S HAND: Card Roulette Action. What better time to release than at high noon on one of the most auspicious days of the year? Be sure not to stare directly into the sun or the barrel of the revolver when playing.”

Christian Schoenig, Programmer & Black Garden Studios Co-Founder, says:

“There will be lots of twists and turns playing with your group of friends thanks to the TRIGGER system. But it's not limited to just large groups. This is a party game that’s just as exciting and nail biting when it's only two players as it is with four or eight.”

Ryan Fluharty, Lead Artist & Black Garden Studios Co-Founder, says:

“We've put our creative minds together to create a game where cyberpunk cowboys put their silicon souls on the line in a high-stakes gamble to win it all. The best part? It's all orchestrated for your amusement! We hope you enjoy this game just as much as we did making it!”
