Blaze is a retro/minimalistic styled sci-fi first person flight/shooter action game. The game can be played almost single handedly with just mouse. It's about shooting a lot of alien things (in semi-randomized missions?). The alien things are trying capture all your base, and have already captured at least half of it. You have to defend the base and capture the alien controlled areas back. Or something like that...
Tried a different way to draw textures.. just painted it without having lots of layers. This way I wouldn't get bump maps so easily, but material patterns or colors could become more interesting easier.
Tried Jackhammer for level editing. Feels less confusing than Radiant.
Tried Q1BSP, because player seems to get stuck a lot in Q3BSP.
The sky lighting was rather difficult to do, and after 2 hours of trying different settings I still didn't get it the right color. At least the green light looks green.
Q3BSP indeed can have issues, especially under non q3 engines.
On Altarbeta run under darkplaces I had to build a blocking model to sit under some world brushes - you could walk through them and fall into the map!
Yea, I've fallen through the levels a few times too. I think I'll use Q1BSP for now. Being stuck/falling through feels more annoying than lighting being a little off and limited to 2 sizes for things.
