Hello, I am new to this forum, as you can tell. I am working on a game I am calling Island World.

It's a survival game like Minecraft (and such). Instead of one big terrain, the world is made up of randomly generated islands. The idea is to have many boss battles throughout the sky, flying vehicles and much more. I plan on leaning into being more sci-fi (currently the assets are just there because I don't know what sci-fi style I am going to go for) for at least weapons and such. I will also add multiplayer and much more, however probably only use LAN as I really doubt my net code would be very secure.

Libraries Used:

- Slick (UI at some point, and texture loading for OpenGL)

- LWGJL 2.93

- SimplexNoise

Game Minium Requirements (As of very very very early development)

OpenGL 1.1 Support (You may need 1.3/1.4 later on)

- 768 MB of ram (you can go lower but make sure to turn down island size, loading distance, and max islands per chunk)\

- A CPU I'd say from like 2006 or higher I need to do testing.

- Java 6 or higher (Java 17 has been tested to work fine, but I don't know about anything higher, I'd assume so)

Server Minium Requirements

Coming soon

Development Phases

IVEDP (Incredibly very early development phase) (Current Phase)

Pre-Alpha - Basic survival mechanics,

Alpha - More advance survival mechanics.

Beta - Bosses and such

Gamma (If needed) - Unknown

RCs For 1.0.0 - Unknown

Post Launch (Unknown) - Unknown

Here's a quick demo:

Gemoo.com

It's very slow and very early in development. It's slow as I decided to spawn more islands per chunk to show you the islands generating easier)

Any (such as features) ideas, suggestions or name ideas please tell me!
