This mod, Psillyships, replaces the starting 8 Type A ships with 8 new ships.
This mod requires Slipstream Mod Manager version 1.9.1 or later, Hyperspace version 1.0.3 or later, Insurrection+, AWM+ for Insurrection+, and NWM+ for Insurrection+ in order to run. Make sure you have reverted your FTL game to version 1.6.9, which is required to make Hyperspace 1.0.3 function correctly.
After downloading Psillyships.zip, rename it to a .ftl file extension and patch into FTL in Slipstream Mod Manager in the following order:
>Hyperspace.ftl
>Alpha - FTL Insurrection+ (Needs Hyperspace).ftl
>Module - AWM+ for Insurrection+ (Needs Hyperspace).ftl
>Module - NWM+ for Insurrection+ (Needs Hyperspace).ftl
>Psillyships.ftl
>[Any additional optional graphical/music mods you want]
Since this mod overwrites the 8 starting ships in vanilla FTL, if you want to go back to playing with those ships, you will have to deselect this mod in Slipstream Mod Manager and re-patch (no biggie).
Psillyships 1.0
Features:
8 new ships (that replace the starting 8 Type-A ships). Many of these ships lack O2 to start with, and many generally tend to be more reliant on drones, teleporting, and less orthodox strategies (compared to the typical tried-and-true gunship strategy).
The Droneseeder - Autojunk Crewship A - A Federation prototype welded together on the cheap from captured autoship parts, the ship is designed to sabotage its enemies and burrow its drones onto their ships. But it lacks crew support systems and shields, so only a rare breed of pilot need apply. (Note: this ship features a unique weapon created just for this mod, the Faulty Ion Beam).
The Sahara - Autojunk Crewship B - This bleak assemblage of captured autoships skimps on creature comforts like O2, having plowed its RnD funds into top-notch drone defense and hazmat suits (just as good as air, right?) Teleporting onto enemy ships will feel like a vacation by comparison.
The Iceprison - Autojunk Crewship C - Few who've been abducted into its inner medical sanctum and holding cells have lived to tell the tale, but a few claimed survivors report a Lanius/Crystal/Slug consortium engaged in DNA harvesting. But surely they're peaceful! They don't even have weapons!
The Jolly Green Dragon - Autojunk Crewship D - This Zoltan variety of autoship junkheap spent all its research funds on a cloaking system and luxurious crew quarters...still without a working O2 system, though. Oh well, at least the clones will be comfy during their brief existences.
The Honey Hive - Honeycomb Cruiser A - The Lanius pirate lord known as "Queen Bee" became fabulously rich with her advanced drone mothership, gilding her "Honey Hive" with hues of gold-pressed latinum in the manner of a honeycomb...until Zoltan border cops finally commandeered her sweet ride.
The Skunkworks - Honeycomb Cruiser B - This Zoltan research vessel is outfitted with a new nearly-unstoppable beam weapon that promises to turn the tide against the rebellion. Let's hope that the ship's Zoltan shield defenses hold long enough for the weapon to complete its lengthy charge time! (Note: this ship features a unique weapon created just for this mod, the Nova Beam).
The Razzamatazz - Honeycomb Cruiser C - Upon first sighting of Ol' Razzle Dazzle's garish design, victims of this Honeycomb Cruiser variant are often too dumbfounded to mount any effective resistance. The ship's stunning arsenal of bombs further compounds the problems for the opposing crew.
The Seventh Circle - Honeycomb Cruiser D - Those who've encountered this unholy brainchild of slug deviousness and rock knowhow say fighting this Honeycomb Cruiser variant is like the Seventh Circle of hell. The ship seems designed to sit back in no hurry, watch, and play with its burning victims.
