Citadel now uses Unity 5!
After a few months of work, Citadel is up to par with its previous version on the DarkPlaces engine. Check it out:
Unity is much more friendly in terms of UI development. The HUD is shaping up nicely and framework code exists for the elements that aren't fully developed yet.
Also, all assets are now available via GitHub! Check out progress, follow milestones, and jump on board. Feel free to sign up and assign yourself to a task. Citadel - GitHub
With Citadel now fully open source, hopefully we can see the number of contributors increase. Already there have been more people contacting to join. We are welcome for all the help we can receive, even if it is only as small a contribution as making one or two 3D models.
As far as release dates go, we are now taking more of a "When it's Done" approach, though if possible we are shooting for a Christmas release date. The main part that could delay that is enemy creation. Animators are more than welcome to join and help out!
All the Best!

I really enjoy this progress, I just hope EA doesn't kill this
Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. :S
EA doesn't own rights anymore, Night Dive Studios does. They are doing the remake btw. It is on Unity 5 too.
The progress is impressive! I love Unity, I am glad that moved to it. I wish you the best of luck with the development! :)
Wow, that's a HUGE news, amazing :)
How do you feel about the official System Shock remake?

I really hope that this doesn't slow you guys down. I still want to play your version of the original!!
I almost thought NightDive did buy you up, when i heard of their remake.
Seems not so when i read the comments here.
I personally find it a real bummer that you switched from DarkPlaces to Unity.
DarkPlaces can really use projects such as this to keep it and it's developement alive.
I think it is underestimated in what it can do, how beautiful it can render despite only using ogl 2.3.
