Gamebook Adventures 1: An Assassin in Orlandes

Game review

I've played throug (and beaten) this game, and I have to say, it was quite fun. The story was engaging, as were the multiple people and places along the way (some of whom I still haven't found, but plan to!). Finally reaching the end and defeating the game was a great feeling.

I really only have one suggestion, which is geared towards the game mechanics. While the ones in place work well enough, when rolling attack dice, it left me baffled when someone with one die could still hurt me while I had four or more backing me up. If you were going for enhanced difficulty, I suppose it works, but my suggestion would have been to line up all dice side to side. Each die after the first would go again their opposite respective die, and if it won, would add 1 to the primary, and deciding, die. If it went against no die, it would add a static +1 (or, on a 1 roll, not add anything, for a little more of a challenge).

I really just came up with this framework out of quasi-frustration at some points, to be perfectly honest, but I still loved the game, and rated it a 10 out of 10. What would be interesting is if you carried this story on, playing as the same character. I would be very much interested in that!
