Hey peeps,
We have had an equally rough and productive week. We moved over our website successfully to the new forums with a lot of fixes. The new forums turned out great and we love the new tags we got on it and the news section!
This weekend we had a relatively successful playtest, that allowed us to fix numerous bugs we could only catch while playing. Much of this week was spent on ironing these kinks out, and getting the game back up on its feet. Our coder, Blen, has been working like a maniac as well, fixing the equipment function, numerous bugs that caused frame drops, lobby wait time, crafting, and a lot of bugs that made the last playtest virtually unplayable. We’re going to do internal testing for the game this Wednesday with the development team to find more bugs.
Forgive us for small amount of pictures this week, we've primarily been focusing on bugs and improvements to the build. We also hosted a few livestream events this week that you can check out at: Twitch.tv.
Our level designer worked on a really amazing video this week, that we will share with you all now, check out the video: Thefinalstandgame.com
Here you can view some screenshots and a fly through video of some of the new features of the map on the website. As you can see, the plane crash is the starting point of this map. There is still a lot of work to be done on it, but this will give you all a good idea of what you’re in for. The water is just a default from Unity, and will be changed to a more advanced water system using DX11 and some amazing underwater effects.
As you can see, we’ve been trying to keep the full survival experience by including lots of vegetation. This map will be complete soon, with 3km x 3km to explore and survive. This map shall test all your skills using our new dynamic day/night/weather system and now realistic environments. Utilize your environment tactically as a weapon and hone your attacks using the cover of night to conceal your footprints.
We will have more updates on the map within the next few days, lots more to come on the map, so stay tuned for info on the new map!
As always, thank you for your continued encouragement, compliments and constructive critique. We would not be able to do it without your unfaltering support.
CANT WAIT!
