Ever been in a first person shoot, and just wished you could blow up that wall your enemy is hiding behind? Well in ExtroForge, you can! Here's a demonstration of our voxel destruction logic:
In this video, we show off two of the key features to our voxel destruction- the ability of projectiles to destroy (and then apply forces to) blocks which they damage, and our code to detect floating voxels. Each time a block is destroyed, the program searches for any blocks that are no longer attached to the ground. Any floating blocks found this way are destroyed, and fall to the ground, which you see several times in the video. The code currently detects and destroys floating blocks with 100% accuracy and zero lag. In ExtroForge, there are no floating blocks- except for our vehicles!
Next week, we'll release Tech Demo #2: Turret AI. Follow our IndieDB page to make sure you don't miss it or any other ExtroForge development news!
