Hey everyone,
This weekend we tried some more tests on multiplayer. Players are already connected for position, rotation and animation. Some of the actions we had before are been coded again, so this should take some time. Also, cars are almost ready for multiplayer, players can engage suspects together or in separated cars.
Basic multiplayer features like chat, ping, host and connect mode are already done. Next steps are prepare the NPC and Car AI for multiplayer... this should be a nice challenge... and I like that =)
Also, as you may see, we have new models for the characters and new animations. Again, this should be improved in the future, let's just concentrate in the main gameplay features right now.
Cheers
cool
Cheers o/
a feature i would like is stopping suspect with police spikes to burst the tyres, you should make it so you can play as a civillian or a cop or even a fireman or a hospital class that way everybody has a job todo.
Thanks for the tips, Anddos. We will try to implement as many police officer actions as possible. For other jobs, for now we will focus in police officer duties only (but you will be able to have "off-duty" days) ;)
This game seems a bit like a sort of SAMP look to it but with just police. is that sort of what you were going for? because you have taken my interest :D
Well, if you mean that San Andreas mod... sort of. But this is not massive multiplayer, it is just coop ;) You will be able to play with friends, the max number is yet to be confirmed. And here you will have direct missions made for police.
Ah ok that's pretty interesting I like the idea a lot :D
Great update guys! Network coding is more than RPCs and serializing and whatnot since I've yet to really learn it but you guys seem to be doing well. Keep it up!
Hey Simon,
Thanks. I am used to networking code for some years, but it is always a challenge to make a game like this for online mode (specially with NPCs and cars AI). o/
im so excited for this game ! :D
