Nemesys Games is an independent studio located in the heart of Budapest, Hungary. Our team is constructed of top talent hailing from around the world, all of which have a lifelong passion for games. Over the years, our in-house technology has led to a repertoire of products that include games and development tools, which support a multitude of platforms. We plan to continue developing this catalog, grow as a company and in turn, cultivate our small Hungarian gaming community into a prosperous one.
The company was started by 4 Hungarian individuals who had a passion for game development. We
started off by developing our own 3D game engine and licensing this to various small local game development studios. As a result, two children’s games were published: Pranksters: Budget Worx and Pranksters 3D.
After some humble beginnings, we wanted to move ahead by starting development on our own racing
game, Heat Wave, and we soon laid down the foundations of a fresh engine. This new title brought our first international partners while the new engine took us a step further in technology.
We are accepted developers of all major consoles (Xbox, PS3, PSP, Wii), including iOS, and hold the respective development kits for those environments. Due to this, the Nemesys engine was developed
to handle 3D atmospheres with capabilities to port to all platforms. Shortly after building this technology, we produced a brand new racing game titled, “Ignite.”
After taking a shot at mainstream gaming, we decided to try our hand in something different, by venturing into the core-casual game market as well. Our first casual game Fortix was released on PSP and became one of the top 5 among all the titles that SONY’s PSP mini portal had launched with.
Since then, we developed other core-casual games, Air Traffic Control and Fortix 2, the latter being an IGC finalist. A recent, distinctive project that was undertaken by our staff was, Rocket Bullet Storm. A space shoot-em-up that was built for a custom ten meter high LED tower, which included oddly shaped peripheral screens. These were also included in the gameplay as well, creating a truly
unique experience for the gaming world. Our team has a multitude of skills and experience to deliver multiplatform game development projects. Due to the recent closings of almost all international game development companies in Hungary, we also have access to the major Eastern European talent pool. Frequently attending trade shows is something we use for improving our business relations as well as inspiring our team on a regular basis. We believe it helps push everyone involved in the right direction.
