The young team that has been working on "Engines of War" since around the start of 2010. We have been, and are hoping to further, expand with time - applications are welcome!
Our team was born out of working on a different game: "Blood and Steel" - which, like "Engines" is a game based on the Spring Engine. While that project is momentarily on hold, it's where bobthedino (who pretty much single handedly created it) and SeanHeron (who shifted some coding roadblocks) first worked together and got to know each other.
While "BaS" (as it's also known), is pretty different than the game we're currently developing, both share in common that they depart quite strongly from the traditional RTS model (the Spring Engine primarily being an RTS Engine): Blood and Steel requires you to take control of "City" objectives that populate the map, rewarding you with a higher rate of reinforcements - the composition of which you have little influence over. So putting the troops given to your disposal to best effect, rapidly adapting your strategy and tactics in light of fluctuant situations is key. All said, if you have the time, it's well worth giving a spin!
