Hey there! I literally just made an account to properly make a comment about your game. Honestly, is quite the hidden gem.
I've been following it closely since the "Sandbox gore" Era, and let me tell you, the game just keeps getting better and better!
The story is quite straightforward, but that doesn't mean is interesting, quite the contrary! There's a lot of questions that I'm eager to get an answer of later on in the game, you got me hooked with the little intro, which by the way, the art used on that cinematic was very -good-.
Gameplay is very good as well, you crouch, you jump/vault, walk around, shoot, reload, that's about it. Yet, it doesn't feel like any 2D game I have played, it really makes you think before you move somewhere (Especially in harder difficulties). Taking cover, deciding when to reload, when to use your 'nades, all of this comes in a neat little simple to learn yet effective gameplay mechanics.
Horror! Now, well, we all know that fitting horror in a 2D game with shooting mechanics would prove quite difficult. But, I think you have nailed the feeling of "Hm. I'm pretty sure something is gonna pop out of this corner...No...It did not. Oh no." Especially on the underground area with that small chase sequence. Mercs can feel scary too! They can really mess you up if you are not prepared for them.
Honestly, you have a unique game here in your hands, and I'm really excited to see the final product! Good job Helghast.
Hey! Sorry for replying late, I didn't saw this comment, but It's really amazing seeing comments like yours, I'll remind myself of your kind words every time I will need some more motivation to work on the game.
People like you are the true fans of my game, and I'm thankful that you stopped by on my little page.
Thank you :)
This is right in my niche of games.
Do you have a devblog or an approximation of how close this is to done?
