We've got some screenshots for you guys, so if you're one of those people, scroll to the bottom of this post and be happy! If you're into walls of text, however, keep reading. It's a good wall of text, I promise.
New Soundtrack
As the Winter Offensive draws close to release, we've uploaded the first track of the new soundtrack called "The Divine Right." Composed by Tim van Geel, it's a beautifully haunting track. Click here to download it directly on ModDB and be sure to let us know what you think.
Personally it's my favorite tune yet!
New Map
So about that map. Well, we've got some screenshots to hold you tight til you get to try it out for yourself on the 22nd of December (talk about soon!). Here's the official map description:
Our forces have moved to the suburbs surrounding the now destroyed Grand Maces Palace. It is here in the perimeter of the city that several groups of civilians have taken shelter. They witnessed our operations at the Palace and are now a liability. Ensure the destruction to the rest of the palace. Ensure those civilians become victims of bombardment.
Ruins is a dark map, a lot more destruction and grim atmosphere.
New Screenshots
Below are some of the screenshots of the new map, Ruin, and the new units. There are more uploaded in our gallery and on the Iron Grip: Warlord website.
Bottomline
Fragfest is every Saturday at 12:00PM PST (that's 8PM GMT). We hope to see everyone there. How do you participate in Fragfest? It's as simple as logging into the game - demo or not. We purposely organize the community to get out there and play. This Saturday's Frag Fest will prove interesting as it's right before release of our new expansion.
Bottomline
We're working pretty hard to make this launch go well, and so far everything's aligning perfectly for the December 22nd release date. We'll be doing a post on release day with information on how to get this patch, as well as release patch dates. We also have a post mortem coming up, and more news! It's been a busy couple months for Isotx, and we hope you like the end result.
Like the looks of the map. Looks like a lot of choke points to take out the army. Nice. :)
Y'know...I'm struggling to decide whether I should buy Call of Duty 5 or this for my next game. Yes, IG:W is that good in my opinion. Anyone got some advice for me?
iron grip is cheaper and has endless fun so i would get it first
but IG:W has almost no full game servers :(
after ~30-60 days, unless it's by valve, there's almost no full game servers. ;)
I've found with this game, you join an empty server & normally within a few minutes there's ~5 people. It's very enjoyable with only a handfull of people where player vs player games normally aren't (hard to play team games with only two or three people)
Plus if you buy this you can also afford World of Goo, both great, combined = $45.
well are they still going to release this on steam that would give them a huge player boost.
last reply by the dev's on the forums:
So... maybe they got an answer or valve isn't answering. Contact valve & say you want the game on steam. I'm sure if there's enough demand they'll go to the dev's & invite them.
Yeah....this being on Steam would definitely help. Content-wise IG:W is a bit short, although these constant updates sure help. I'd like to see a few more weapons though; the current selection isn't bad, but it leaves a bit to be desired. Taking away the reticule and adding ironsights to everything would make it a bit more tactical, but I suppose the current focus of the game is to bad fast and furious. Sorry to rant, this is just all IMO. :DD
