Another update of our game. We improved the units pathfinding (which was a real pain in the... play), add or changed some mechanics and controls. Some parts of the game are easier, some of them more challenging. You can meet a hyenas now (instead of most wolves) which are afraid of fire.
Installation:
No installation is needed. Just unzip the file and run.
How to play?
The real tutorial is still missing and help screen is not the finest one, we know that. But we were trying to put there the basics. If you have any question how to something, don't hesitate to ask here or on our facebook.
Feedback:
We know there are still a lot of work. And we would love to have your opinion how to continue with the game. We are going to consider every feedback given.
FAQ:
How to get a fire?
Any tribesman without a weapon can take a torch (as a weapon) when is near any fire (natural or fireplace). In the beginning, you have to find a place where a lightning stroke a tree or steal the fire of other tribe. After you get a wisdom of making fire, any unarmed tribesman can make a torch anywhere.
How to drop a weapon?
Click on the weapon icon (right bottom corner).
How to hunt a bison?
You have to encircle him with at least 3 hunters (easier when sneaking) or use a ranged weapon.
How to make a guard stance?
Build a guard fire and adjust your hunters (or anybody else) to it. If you select the fire, you can set how the guards will behave around (if they are gather resources, hunt, or attack everything around). Guard fire also helps to detect sneaking unit and makes sound signal about danger around.
What's new:
in v3:
Hyenas added - hyenas are weak predators who fear a fire (dying animation is missing) but are dangerous in groups
Improved pathfinding - your units are smarter now (there are still some little bugs, but we are working on it
Names and pictures - your tribesmen now have portrait and name.
Statistics - you can see the the abilities of your tribesman near his portrait as a colored beads. Red for strength, blue for intellect, green for perception and white for social skill. It will be soon mentioned in help.
NICE!
Thanks! We are doing our best.
And we are still working on new content. Is there anything you (or anyone else!) prefer to have in next version? :)

some more suggestions: there should be an easy accessible pause key.
when cycling weapons/torches/fire board, the weapons shouldnt be dropped, but instead put on the back(or rather: not be thrown off). it makes for awkward game play, that you have to pick it up again to reactivate the weapon but fire board and torch are always awailable. hope you dont mind my spamming, i am really interested in your game, since im a prehistory buff myself and allways look around for strategy games with stone age survival themes. i`m planning to make a similiar game myself, but it would be turn based. ok. off to some more playing. cheers again and thank you for your efforts!
First, thanks a lot!
Second, thanks a lot! We do not receive many feedbacks these days:)
Third, sorry for late response, It's sometimes difficult to notice there is a new comment.
And at last,
well, actually I didn't know the game, looks pretty cool! But yes, the side scrolling is not the best idea. And I hope our art will be a little better :D O:).
About the mechanics, there are possibly some bugs (not sure about the gathering issue, never happened to me) with pathfindig, most of them are fixed in a new version (will be here soon!) so it could be that.
But i think that the worst problem is missing information about the mechanics. Which (i hope) will be figured in the next version better.
Black in the menu is really a wrong hard to read thing, but the menu will change from the scratch.
We are quite opened about the other game mechanics. For example I'm, quite sure I want to split the material into tools and firewood. Other source will be the herbs (used to shamanistic rituals).
I also really missing Game pausing from time to time. And working on that, but... Strangely it's a bit complicated in the gamemaker.
Also you are right with the weapon thing. The fire making going to be a bit more complicated mechanics (based on the weather and other circumstances - making fire on instant is some kind of relic from the old versions :)) and it really should be possible when carrying a weapon.
Well, thanks again. Don't hesitate to write more notes or we can discuss anything via PMs.
