No, sorry. I have already explained why not. Freelancer mod may be good, but it doesn't go well with what I had in mind for the mod and most importantly, it creates a lot of fuss when implemented in mods(minor bugs, sure, but even them take time to be fixed, if ever).

Please! make this mod is based on the tv serie Vikings , because have a music from tv serie, so try do shield from lagherta, add more weapons, change clothes more based on fur, no armor of plate, less horses, better textures, etc. Try add sea travel like brytenwalda mod, buy ships, etc. The TV serie need a mod, so it is !! GoT have mod, but Vikins no have a mod!
You are quite the enthusiast, aren't you? I admit I haven't seen the series, but I already added dozens of swords, axes and spears. As for the shields, there are 50 or so new ones. Also, a great deal of the armors have fur(although they are not barbarian like, if that's what you meant). Finally, THERE IS sea travel. Just go to a coastal town, buy and ship and have fun.
calm down this is a viking mod loosely based on history if the show is not that accurate anyway if it was we would have to watch the ragnar fight a bear for lagertha
I must say, there's too much cavalry, like, every tournament is just like normal mount and blade, which is a shame.
It's a cool mod, but there are no "ideas", like, there's the obvious "mount and blade with vikings" but what about raiding coastal and neutral cities? Or what about the fact that there were no kings with supreme power? Or the fact that there were no stirrups so you couldn't use both hands for weapons on horseback?
You are right in your assessment, although you have to take some things into consideration. Firstly, this is a mod and it takes advantage of the game engine. I can exploit it, tweak it and bend it, but that's as far as it goes. Secondly, in the team I'm the only one that codes and I am not that great, I am learning now. So, I take things slow and walk with sure steps. But the most important thing is limitations ofthe game engine. Even in the "large" mods with excellent coders, like the Last Days or Brytenwalda, there aren't leaders with limited authority and that's because the game allows more factions, but they have to be similarly structured with the native, meaning they need a king, certain number of lords, fiefs assigned to them, ladies and so on. Nothing can be done about it, sadly. As for the raiding part, I think that it can be done, but as I said I am a novice in coding and it should take a while. ;)
Since the mod is not historical and I am not a proffesional mapmaker, the map has to stay as it is. I am sorry, because I understand that some of you want historical accuracy, but this is not the aim of the mod and -most importantly- my knowledge haws limits. ;)

Now, to answer: I don't know about versio 1.160, but what you can do is go to the mod's directiory, open the Sound folder and erase everything inside it. In all other versions that works. Shields are fine(at least in versions 1.153 and 1.158).
Most of the items have been rebalanced for the next version, so patience at that.But I want to tell you this: The armours(and the weapos) have prices according to their material and complexity, not armour rating. For example, an axe might be more heavy, big and dangerous than a sword, but it costs less, since it's just a wooden shaft and a metal head, while the swords are metal working at its finest. But many things will be rebalanced, don't worry.
Soory about your misshappens with the ship byuing option, but it seemed like the best place to put it. Don't be hasty. xD
About their rarity, I just thought it might be unrealistic that every single sea-raider has a mail shirt on, but it isn't that important either, it doesn't wreck the game or anything.
And also. 1.160 makes the sea-raider ships spawn on land. Yes. They spawn on land in groups of about 15 ships and move at the speed of 15.0 units on LAND. That can be annoying sometimes, you can't get away from them and if you have been wounded and have to send your soldiers to fight without you, like 50 people against 150 sea-raiders, there's almost no way you will win. That happened to me a few times. Are you working on making the mod playable on 1.160 or should I just put up with the bugs or change my version of the game?
I am really sorry, but I cannot make the mod work with 1.160, since I didn't upgrade to that version and I won't, due to all the problems there seem to exist with it. I apologize.
Good post you made, otherwise, lots of interesting things to consider. I watched that video about mail shirts and genearally, it was useful. I will rebalance most of the items, don't worry.
Now, about the raiders with mail hauberks, it might seem unrealistic, but you will notice that all of them have the named "raider hauberk", which is a hauberk rusty and with many holes. That is because they salvage them and don't know/care to treat them well. Mostly role-playing detail, but still...:D

Oh and I forgot to say, I understand why you wouldn't do all the work to make it work perfectly with 1.160 so no problem. The bugs are a bit annoying but not game-breaking for me at least, I can live with them. If I start having even worse problems with 1.160 I can just get an earlier version so it's not a problem either.

Awesome. I still think it's a good idea to put some kind of a confirmation screen when you're buying a ship. It might happen to others as well that they accidentally buy it and 5k is a lot if you're just starting out.
